HQPlayer NAA feature for RS130

@Nuforce @conrad

After checking with our software team, we can confirm that support for HQPlayer NAA is planned for future development.

However, please understand that this will take some time and is not something that can be implemented immediately.

At the moment, our highest priority is improving the stability of the ROSEONE app.

Thank, great information (but it would be better, if Roon can resolve it’s bug in showing the metadatas directly, which are in NAA available)!

And yes, i’m also sure, that the RS130 will never get implemented NAA.

Does that mean you won’t be supporting hardware DSD upsampling without the use of HQP?

@ROSEHAN I understand that you want to improve the RoseOne app but, in parallel, you could already start to get in contact with HQplayer. They might have a “ready” solution to be quickly implemented…as they already offer android support for the Eversolo.

The most important part of an audio streamer is flexibility, new features and updates.

Would be nice to have at least an ETA for the HQplayer NAA implementation…

Thanks

Its not a Roon bug - Roon only support NAA 4 which does not support metadata.

Roon need to update their HQP support to support NAA 6 which does have metadata.

Unfortunately @ROSEHAN your software development is so incredibly slow and focused on all the wrong things.

How many non-ea OS software releases have HiFi Rose released in the last year for theior hardware? How much useful new functionality has actually been added?

If you look at Eversolo and/or Matrix Audio they have regularly released stable updates with new features for their hardware (including NAA support) over the last year.

Why is ROSEONE so important? Seems like a waste of resource to me.

It depends how to define a bug, but IMHO (and that’s also Jussi’s meaning) Roon should accept metadatas coming through NAA 6.x directly without the need to use an external proxy.

mmh, I think it’s a good idea to force ROSEONE, because the most user are not using Roon (and here the Rose devices are working mostly smooth) or/and HQPlayer.

But not acceptable for me is:

  • DSD isn’t playing gapless with their player engine for local files
  • No openhome integration (asked for this since years) → DLNA not gapless
  • metadata handling in their database (e.g. problems with multi disc albums)

Dear HiFi Rose users

We are continuously working on adding DSD gapless playback support.

However, we are currently facing several technical challenges during the development process. We fully understand that this is an important feature for many users, and our team is continuing to work on it actively. We sincerely apologize for the delays and the long wait, and we will do our best to make this feature available as soon as possible.

Regarding OpenHome integration, after careful consideration, we have decided not to support this feature. We kindly ask for your understanding that it is difficult for us to implement every requested feature for all HiFi ROSE users.

As for metadata handling issues, including multi-disc album recognition and organization, our server team is continuously working on improvements and fixes in this area as well.
