Hello,
If i run a Roon server on a PC, does the PC need to be on always?
Does the ROON server actually stream music to the streamer(roon endpoint) or just direct it to Qobuz/Tidal and the streamer takes it from there?
Does the Roon server affect the quality of music at all?
Thanks for the info in advance
If you want hear to music, for sure you have to have the PC switched on.
ROON server is streaming your music directly to the ROON endpoint, using RAAT protocol.
If sound quality is affected by ROON is discussed a lot, I would not care about it.
If you want to use Roon, machine with Roon needs to be on.
Yes. Everything goes through Roon.
If you are not applying some DSP, it does not. If you are, it might.
