I can imagine. I got a few one-off or super-obscure albums into Roon, and they work well enough for me, but if my entiore collection were like that I would not have bothered.
The Leaf Audio sticks out
Did you test it against other dacs?
Yes, before I had Lampizator, Terminator 2, Holo Spring 3 L2, Teac UD-701N and others. I prefer the CMD27 to all of those, especially after replacing the opamps by Burson or Staccato ones, which is easy to do (no soldering, just plug and play). This DAC is a steal. It also has a volume control (which I do not use) and balanced headphone output.
Thanks a lot. On a good day I think I can replace an opamp. How do you connect to rs130 - and is the rs130 the one clocking?
Mutec Ref10 SE120 external clock > 75 Ohm > RS130 > USB > fiber > USB > DAC
or
Mutec Ref10 SE120 external clock > 75 Ohm > RS130 > USB > fiber > USB > Audio-GD DI20HE DDC > I2S > DAC
for even more lush immersive spaciousness.
I also tried optical but this does not sound very good for some reason with this combo.
I would highly recommend Rose 130, made an immediate improvement into my sound system. Ignore people who say there’s no difference, most of the time, when you investigate them they don’t have much knowledge about real world music, just pseudoscience. It’s the difference between a Steinway and a Baldwin. Yes the Baldwin can do the job and sound good doing it , but it will never be the Steinway.
