I2S (HDMI) recommended cable length

For Rose 130, is there any recommendation on the length of the I2S hdmi cable? Does longer cable (of good quality) - say 2m too long. Would cables of less than 1m in length sound better or it does not matter?
Thanks for reply.

@Sk152

Usually we recommend using a cable less than 3m.
I don’t know if there is a difference in sound quality depending on the length of the cable, but compatibility with RS130 is better.

As short as possible.

I’ve read several experiences and opinions on fora, and I’m also using i²s. Cables is always a contended topic. But there are certainly differences in cables. Shielding and topology matters. i²s means it is an integrated circuit (chip or ic in short) to ic serial connection. Meant to connect chips inside a CD-Player originally.

A good cable must support 8k video. Then there are differences is materials and plugs. Many people claim there cannot be a difference but a lot of audiophiles say there is. And that it depends on the DAC. Those are a few caveats and disclaimers. Now to the answer…

According to experience and logic: the shorter the better! If you can connect with a 30cm that would be best. Or 50cm. There are some really expensive HDMI cables intended for i²s but I’m always sceptical about how useful that is for digital cables. But the simplest way to get a better cable and save money is: a shorter cable.

It has to do with purity and reflections. The longer the cable the higher the chance of getting errors; the block wave starts looking less square and unclear, timing becomes less accurate.
