Ignore prefixes when sorting by Artist - The Beatles just Beatles

Hi,

I have over 3 TB of music on my NAS. My folders are named just the artist without the “The” meaning The Beatles is just called Beatles. The is true for many artists with THE prefix in the name. Is there a way to remove THE in Rose? I use Media Monkey to access my music and every artist is listed without THE. When I use Rose software I see THE for some Artists and not for others.

Sorry this is hard to explain.

THANKS

It’s called ‘ignore prefix’, which should be rather easy to do.

I would like very much to see ‘genre’ recognized as seperate values when separated by a semicolon " ; "

When you look on musicstack or discogs there are just a few main genres: classical, rock, electronic, progressive (and just a few more). And they have many, many subgenres. This makes the ‘genre’ tag rather useless.

On the Rose software I get an enormous list of genres which makes it totally useless. Or, if I retag all 2TB of music I lose all tags it took me years to organise and I’m left with just 5 or 6 with 5000 classic titles and 4000 rock titles and 3000 electronic… That’s pretty useless too.

It would be much better to nest sorting like first by ‘genre’, (then subgenre), and then by ‘artist’ and then by ‘year’.

I suggest it’s worth searching out how other websites or applications do that. It’s basic database building and search function.

I am too kind of a victim because i use Media Monkey for managing my music on the Windows desktop and listening Music with RS520.

Some Media Monkey functions are not available in Rose devices even though they are standard tags and music collection management like filtering prefixes or multiple genres, artists, composers and so on.

Hopefully none of this is going to happen.

How about adding The The to your NAS library?

‘Uncertain smile’ is a great track from the album ‘Soul Mining’
