Internal SSD vs external, portable SSD via USB input

Hello, and thank you for the answer in the old forum. I am not sure I understand it correctly, however. My question is about this two scenarios / set-ups on the RS250:

Option 1) 4TB portable Sandisk SSD connected to the back USB 3.0 port via a USB C to USB B cable.

Option 2) 4TB internal SSD.

Which one would be best? Or would they both be the same?

In theory, both are the same.
However, since Option 2 is stable in power supply, there may be slight differences in sound quality or transmission speed.
