Is it normal for the white characters on the RS130's LCD screen to not appear as the same white on the RD160's OLED display?

@ROSEHAN

Is it normal for the white characters on the RS130’s LCD screen to not be the same “pure” white as the RD160’s OLED display?
I find that tThe RD160’s characters are off-white (tending toward yellowish).

The white balance on the RD160 isn’t always the same, perhaps depending on the temperature.
Is there a way to adjust the white balance, could we adjust the light intensity on the RD160’s display ?

Here’s a photo that unfortunately isn’t very representative of reality:

The RD160 display is AMOLED and the RS130 is LCD. They are different technologies and I’m pretty sure the RD160 is monochrome and doesn’t have any way to change its color. Being wildly different, I never expected mine to match in any way.

Have you noticed any differences in the whites between the RS130 and the RD160?
And even differences in the white on the RD160 panel?

How long have you had the RD160?
Have you estimated its operating hours?

@domrol

The font color of the RD160 we have is white.
Our RD160 looks the same as the picture you sent.

Currently, the brightness or font color cannot be changed on the RD160.
We will consider changing the brightness or font color in the future.

Thanks, ROSEHAN.

Okay, for the color change and the brightness for a future firmware.

But I’d rather have a white balance (RGB) setting to adjust the balance and nature of white on the primary colors that make it up.

Can you request that?

Furthermore, I have the impression that the white color of the characters changes as the RD160 warms up.

Can you check this with the technical teams?

@domrol

It seems difficult to add an RGB white balance setting to adjust the characteristics and balance of white by controlling the RGB values on the RD160.

Also, since the RD160 uses an OLED display, the color may appear slightly different depending on the surrounding light.

If possible, please attach a photo so we can better understand the issue.

Thanks, ROSEHAN.

I think the simple answer to your question is “yes, it is normal”. These are two different display technologies and these two units were maybe built as brother and sister but not as identical twins. Of all the issues that Rose has to deal with, why are we worrying about what color of white we have on our displays?

@domrol

I have forwarded your requirements to the software team.

They said that they need to check later whether changing the brightness or font color is possible. However, even if it is possible right now, they said that it is difficult right now because we have many external issues that need to be resolved first.

That’s not the point, I’m raising a point which doesn’t prevent it from being prioritized in a ToDoList.

Thank you, ROSEHAN.

I understand that this request cannot be addressed as a priority. My request is to add it to your to-do list and not forget it.
