Local Server>RS130>DAC with Roon

SOLVED - Duh. The RS130 had become disabled as a Roon Endpoint. I re-enabled it and all is good!

Hi. My basic digital side is a Pachanko Constellation server/player into a dCS Lina Network DAC. Several months ago I added an RS130 into the chain and was very happy with the results (I was using a Denafrips Terminator DAC at the time).
Unfortunately, my RS130 failed shortly thereafter and went for warranty repair, which was performed successfully, and it was returned to me a couple of weeks ago.
Since then, I have not been able to re-integrate the RS130 into my system. I am sure that several settings were changed during the repair process.

  1. I can play my music library directly from my Pachanko server through my dCS DAC.
  2. The Pachanko server hosts Roon and is connected via Ethernet cable to a network switch.
  3. The dCS DAC is also connected via Ethernet cable to the same network switch.
  4. My Roon settings show my Pachanko server as the active Roon server.
  5. Music plays successfully via the above setup.
  6. My RS130 is also connected to the same switch via Ethernet cable.
  7. My RS130 cannot find any of the music files on the Pachanko server and “transport” them to the dCS DAC (it is connected to the DAC via an AES/EBU cable).
My goal is that the Pachanko server function only as a storage unit for local files and that the RS130 handle all Roon processing before handing off to the DAC.
Can someone explain what I’m doing wrong and hand-hold me through the solution?
    Thanks!

@Zuman

Thank you very much for sharing your detailed setup and for updating that the issue has been resolved.
We’re glad to hear that re-enabling the RS130 as a Roon Endpoint successfully restored operation.

For future reference, if the RS130 is ever not recognized by Roon or fails to function as an endpoint, please check the following:

  1. Roon Ready setting – Ensure that the RS130 is enabled as a Roon Ready device under Settings → Roon Ready.

  2. Network connection – Confirm that both the RS130 and your Roon Core (e.g., Pachanko server) are connected to the same local network via Ethernet.

  3. Firmware version – Keep your RS130 updated to the latest official firmware to maintain full compatibility with Roon.

  4. Reboot both devices – Restarting the RS130 and Roon Core can often re-establish proper communication.
