Logitech Harmony remote control compatibility with Rose Hi-Fi products?

@ROSEHAN

I just received my RS130 and RB160.
I have a Logitech Harmony remote control that allows me to turn on my preamplifier and amplifiers using their infrared commands learned by the Logitech remote control.
With one press of a button, all commands are then executed, turning on all devices, etc.

My Logitech Harmony remote control doesn’t register infrared beams from the RS130 and RB160 remote controls.
Why?

Do any customers have successfully used their Logitech Harmony remote control with Rose products?

I sincerely thank you for your support.

My RS130 works perfectly with Harmony Elite. It had to learn the commands one by one from the original remote, but that worked without a glitch. Maybe you have to experiment with the distance between the remotes while learning.
Also I did not pair the rose remote via RF.

Vers good news !
Do you remember the distance you did use.

Just about ten or fifteen centimeters, the angle is also important and the time you press the button on the original. I used a PC with the harmony-remote connected to the PC via an USB cable connection. It is also possible with an iPad app and the Logitech hub. I did not try that.

Hello,

I am trying to set up my RS151 and I would like to use a Logitech Harmony Elite remote instead of the original one, has somebody managed to do it ? When I try to make the hub learn from the original remote, it simply doesn’t recognize the original remote ir signals…

Take the RS130 codes, which are in the logitech database.

I will try it, thanks

I have managed to have a few keys programmed in the harmony but this is very time consuming as I need to try a large number of times to learn each key !

If the RS130 codes work it will be great.

I just found that I should use hi-fi rose as a brand and it accepted rs130 as a known device it seems. I will give it a try later when at home

My Logitech Harmony Elite perfectly controls the RS130 and RD160.

@domrol

What are the differences when controlling the RS130 and RD160 using a Logitech Harmony Elite remote compared to using the Rose remote?

If there are any advantages or disadvantages, could you please explain them briefly?

Hello Rosehan,

Actually, the advantage of a remote like the Logitech Harmony is that it replaces all your other remotes. You can learn the infrared commands from each remote or retrieve them from the original manufacturer’s database. This allows you to create a Device for each original remote.

Then, the main advantage is the creation of Activities, which allows you to chain commands for all your Devices and then control them with a single remote, either via physical buttons or its color touchscreen.

Let’s take an example of my Rose HiFi system, which consists of:

  1. RS130
  2. RD160
  3. Atoll PR400 preamplifier
  4. 4 Atoll AM400 amplifiers. A single press of the Music Activity button on the screen of my Logitech Harmony Elite remote turns on my entire system and starts playing a favorite radio station on my RS130.

The initial activity sequence includes:

  1. a power-on command for the RS130 and a series of commands that replicate the actions required to start listening to my favorite radio station.

  2. a power-on command for the RD160.

  3. the power-on command for the PR400 activates the first two AM400s via two trigger cables.

  4. the power-on command for the RD160 activates the last two AM400s via two trigger cables.

Important note:
Logitech has stopped manufacturing Harmony remotes, but its servers are still active.
Remotes that operate on the same principle as Logitech Harmony remotes are now available.

Example: Sofabaton remotes

There are much more advantages in using an universal remote like a hubed based Logitech, Sofabaton or my really old Philips Pronto Pro.

  • much better IR Sender
  • Home Assistant Integration (you can use much more protocols than IR and write more or less complex workflows)

@ROSEHAN Ask for this multiple times: Why you are not publishing you’re IP based SDK?
