Missing LAN connection

The default for most devices is to have the full class C range (the last octet) available for DHCP.

For most devices you should be able to go in to the configuration and change the address range.
This could allow you to reserve some for static IP addresses. ( In some, you can change the lease time. )

In some, you can set it up so that you can assign the ip address based on the devices MAC address. This is ‘quasi static’.

For wi-fi… you should be able to set a static IP address on the RS130 unit and then set that same IP address as static on the router. As @burki indicated you should be able to change the range so that your IP address you set for the Rose is in a static range.

@Lasi PM me, I may be able to help.

On thing… which would be weird.
IPV4 could be turned off and the device uses IPV6.
This would be weird since most home networks are IPV4 since you won’t see 250 devices on a network.

But its still possible.

I found something today that should help narrow this down.

When I power the RS130 on at the unit, it does not connect to my Wi-Fi. I gave it thirty minutes yesterday and it never found the network on its own. When I power it on using the Rose app instead, it connects instantly. Every time.

Same router, same network, same unit, same moment. The only difference is how it was turned on. So the radio works and my network is fine — something in the power-on sequence at the unit isn’t bringing the Wi-Fi up.

For context on the network question, since it keeps coming up: I have about 50 devices on this router. That’s the same 50 that were connecting alongside the RS130 before the firmware update. After the update, all 50 still connect without issue and the RS130 doesn’t. Nothing changed on my end. The only thing that changed was the firmware.

Hope the app detail is useful to whoever is looking at this. It seems like a fairly specific place to start.
