Hi Rose Support,
I’ve been able to play my music library via an external USB drive (2T) all this while using the USB 3.0 port on 201e. Recently I connected an external DAC via USB 2.0. Am able to play Tidal but Rose 201e no longer able to detect my music library. Tried rescanning (DB initialisation) but nothing happens. How can I fix this problem?
Thanks
Hello @Dwlie
Before answering to your questions, let me ask you few questions.
-
If your DAC connected to the USB 2.0 port is disconnected, is the external USB drive (2TB) connected to the USB 3.0 port recognized normally?
-
Please tell me the model name of the USB DAC you are using and the model name of the external USB drive (2TB).
-
Please let me know if the external USB drive (2TB) you are using has an auxiliary power supply.
-
If you connect an external USB drive (2TB) to the USB 2.0 port and connect the DAC to the USB 3.0 port, check if the same phenomenon occurs.
Thank you
Hi,
I managed to resolve the problem after doing a factory reset—this was something I was avoiding as it is troublesome. Apart from resetting everything it takes time to recan the music library.
After doing a reset the 201e did not restart after several hours! Had to power off and then restart again. And it finally worked.
This is the second time I have had to do a factory reset (unrelated problem due to some queue in the playback).
Anyway, thanks for getting back.
I am curious, how well does the 201e play a large library on USB? How is it presented…maybe you could post a screenshot. I am tempted to sync my library, rather than rip it to an SSD. But I am undecided on the best approach; thanks
Hello @Alex_HiRes
The capacities of external memories - MicroSD : up to 400GB, USB : up to 512GB, SSD : up to 4TB, HDD : up to 10TB
If the capacities of external memories are exceeded, errors or lags may occur.
There is no inconvenience in using it if you connect it below the standard and use it.
In theory, both connecting connecting with USB and SSD are the same.
However, since connecting SSD into Rose device is stable in power supply, there may be slight differences in sound quality or transmission speed.
Thank you
