My SFP Connection Setup Chart

Thanks. I use Photoshop basically with some help of Windows image capturing tool.

Instead of FMCs and fiber, you can use the elegant and cheap on-box solution, SilentPower LAN iPurifier Pro.

Thanks but the price of both is more or less the same. :grinning:

I agree, …and … : Where is the fun then

I don’t understand why you mixed the Finisar module with Huawei (I think you wrote wrong Hauwei). It is the difference in quality (type of laser used) from heaven to earth between the two.
And regarding the optical fiber used, I would recommend glass optical fiber, not plastic, from Corning, Commscope or Phoenix Contact.
The FMC from LHY is not a light, you could look at the TeraDak products.

The new switch from Melco:

Wow! But expensive. For my finances, I’ll probably consider Melco 100/2.

The price of the Melco S1 is more than the RS130+RD160 together. Congratulations SPaul, if you got it.

Yes, I put Finisar (1) and Huawei (2) in the connection from LHY FMC to Melco S100/2. The Huawei is more pricey than the Finisar. Two Huawei together is too bright to me. I found the mixing is the best balance over two Finisar with the 10Gtek cable.

I have the Corning cables as well. But I found other brands and the mixing use of them sound better in my setup. They may not be the choices for others.

After all, some people like more bass in music and some people don’t. Preferred choices are personal.

Obviously it’s a matter of taste.
But I think we must have a reference, the sound in a concert hall at a live classical performance.

Oh no! I did not buy such a thing! Those who would buy would deserve compassion, not congratulations!
I put the link only as a title of information and for some on this forum for whom money does not matter!
I’m not a big fan of Melco and of “audiophile” switches in general! I think that network equipment is another “fish food”, you need a lot of research and expertise in the field, which hi-fi companies do not have.
If you research carefully, you will find that all these audiophile switches come from cosmeticized industrial switches (a linear source, a beautiful box, several LEDs, etc.) and the price increased dozens of times.

Sure. Sound in a concert hall and sound in a jazz cafe are different too.

Well, it depends how you see it. Truly there are cosmeticized products but there are also nice products pursuing the best in every details.

Of course a congratulations if I could afford it.

Sound in a concert hall and sound in a jazz cafe are the same !.. the music is different!

Well, you know what I mean. The environment, the acoustics, etc.

I think maybe I didn’t translate exactly what I wanted to say. It is not about comparing audition rooms, but about how an instrument is heard in reality and how it is reproduced by home equipment.

TomT < is rs130 and rd160 a good combo compared to what you have tried before?

Yes, it is the best combo I ever have so far. Surely it still has weaknesses, but I am quite happy with what it performs.

Thank you. Nice to know TomT
Can you mention some of your previous streamer/dac combo’s ?

Macintosh, Weiss, Bricasti, Aurender, Eversolo.
Or maybe I’d better say the RS130+Rd160 is the combo that please me most so far.
