Hi guys
I’m wanting to know if you can have SSD storage run over the network on WIFI?
I have heaps of ripped CDs on my Rose 150b however it’s not connected to Ethernet.
I would love Roon gain visibility of my ripped CDs if possible.
Cheers Barry

Using internal SSD as Roon storage, and over WiFi sounds like a pretty bad idea, but it would be exact same process as over Ethernet.
Since Roon plays everything from the Core, it will first pull those files from Rose, using SMB, process them in the Core, and then send them right back to Rose over RAAT protocol. Depending on how good or bad WiFI connection is it might even get overloaded.
It would probably work, at least with CD quality tracks, but it’s a very suboptimal way of doing things.
No problem, I have many files stored on my NAS and that works perfectly so I might just save them to that storage space…
That’s probably the best. NAS is designed to serve up files to multiple users at once.
If you have some files that Roon would not play natively to Rose (i.e. DSD512) it might make sense to store those locally.
Thanks for the help.
