Network problem folder - contents are not recognized by other media player

Hello

I have the following problem with my Rose 250A streamer:

I can’t access the Rose 250A from another media player on the SMB network.

Rose FW:EA 5.8 letzte FW

I have tested the following attempts without success:

Rose reset, Rose official FW imported, network reset, router restarted, different new password used.

I can’t access the content with another media player. The first level is reached with a password.

I can’t see the contents of the folder.

Is there a write permission that could be incorrect?

What works:

Rose 250a can access the media device, can see all content on all network resources,

Windows 10 x64 PC comes to the Rose 250a, transfer from and to the Rose works smoothly with about 40Mb/s or 70Mb/s to the Windows PC in the WLAN.

Rose is connected to the network with a LAN cable.

The media player can play all 5.1 or 7.1 audio files in the respective formats. The Rose only plays them in 2.0.

Does anyone have an idea?

Best regards

Thank you for your reply.
My 250a is connected to a Yamaha CX-A5200 via HDMI.
The HDMI signal pass-through is enabled. I can view the signal inputs and outputs on the Yamaha screen. It clearly states: 2.0 channel input, 7.1 channel output.
If I play these files from the Rose through the DUNE using a Dune media player, I get a 7.1 input signal and a 7.1 output signal.
For example, with Boris Blank BD Audio.
Are you sure it’s outputting 5.1 or 7.1? Regardless of whether it’s *.wav, *.flac, or other files?

I’ll try again in a few days. VLC Player shouldn’t be installed to play multi-channel audio. The Rose also doesn’t support true audio pass-through. That was one of my reasons for buying it. I can also play all audio files with the Dune HD MAX VISION 4K. It was just the display that caught my attention. Otherwise, a complete waste of money.

RS150 and RS250A are both stereo devices, so multichannel (MCH) playback is not natively supported through the Rose Music Player.
Even if MCH files are loaded, they will be downmixed or may not play properly via the Rose Music Player.

However, if you’re using an external USB DAC that supports multichannel audio and a third-party player such as VLC via HDMI or USB, it may be possible to play MCH files depending on the DAC’s capabilities and player configuration.
Please note that this setup falls outside of the officially supported use case for RS150/RS250A.

@aswiss
RS150 is designed and optimized for high-quality stereo music playback.
While multichannel (MCH) playback is not currently supported and is not part of our product roadmap for the RS150

We truly appreciate your passion for music and the thoughtful way you’ve integrated the RS150 into your system alongside other dedicated components like the Oppo-203 and Shield TV.

I am a little late to the party, but you need to enable SMB support for the internal drive in the settings. You will select a username and password. You can then access internal files on drive (I am assuming your drive is the kind you mount internally, physically into the unit) from another device or computer. I access the drive in my 250a all the time from my computer via a mapped network drive. Not the easiest to figure out, due to a woeful lack of support from the manufacturer. I can upload my latest music in this fashion.
The unit will not play multichannel files in anything other than 2 channel, as mentioned.
