New Official release

Same here. Qobuz connect, NOT working.

I can see the RS130 but Qobuz connect fails each and every time. @ROSEHAN to proactively answer the questions:

IOS: Updated to latest Qobuz app

Android: Updated to the latest Qobuz app

I never installed the beta version of the current release but did update this morning to the current 5.9+ version of the Hifi Rose OS without issue.

Qobuz connect enable (turned-on) in the Hifi Rose 130 menu

All apps see the device via Qobuz but fail to connect to the Hifi Rose 130

Not to be snarky but honestly this revision has been in beta for months and yet the most obvious challenges persist from beta to live release. This happens with each and every software release. It feels as there is no QA on beta releases prior to full GM releases.

Update to 5.9 was smooth, but like others Qobuz Connect doesn’t work. Its attempts to connect, but fails each time on the RS130.

I wonder for cases where Qobuz Connect stopped working, were you all running the last EA version before going to 5.9? If so, I wonder if that has something to do with it.

I had never loaded the EA version on either of my Rose devices. And now, when I open the Qobuz app neither Rose device is shown as an option to connect with. This morning they were both listed as options.

Both my RS130 and RS520 have now disappeared as options in the Qobuz app. Both showed as options to connect this morning after the update.

Hello,
With my RS130, I had the same problem as some others with QC (error: “could not connect to media route”) when I upgraded to the EA version, but I think it’s the same problem with 5.9.
After a factory reset, QC worked, so I figured it was probably a personal setting that was causing it to bug. So I tested each setting to see, and when I started changing things in the “date and time” menu, QC stopped working. I had to do a factory reset again and reconfigure everything except this menu, and everything has been working great since then!
Hope this helps anyone.

Dear HiFi Rose users

If you are experiencing the error message ‘could not connect to media route’ when playing Qobuz, please check if the same symptom occurs even after setting it as follows.

Rose device–> Settings → Date and Time → Daylight saving time → Off
Finally, reboot your Rose device.

Thanks. It works for me on rs520.

I tried the cumbersome procedure of resetting the device and configure all the settings again, of course except of daylight saving time on my RS 150b.
Qobuz connect worked
 for exactly one song!!!
Please stop claiming this OS update was tested throughout.

Did as @ROSEHAN recommended and disabled DST. Q connect worked for less than 10 minutes and once again I can not connect. How this issue was not discovered during beta testing is beyond me. I have yet to see a smooth release of any major updates to Rose OS. Frustrating to still feel like an alpha tester.

And what about non-working artist display and inability to control by player itself while using DLNA client?

I just installed the new official version (upgraded from the EA version), and everything seems to be working perfectly. The Qobuz app on my iPhone detects my 150b without any issues, and Qobuz Connect is working smoothly.

The only minor bug I’ve noticed so far is a brief stutter at the start of a track—but only when I skip to the very end of the previous one (within the last few seconds). If I leave a bit more time before the track ends, the transition to the next song is seamless. Playing through an entire album also works flawlessly.

The stutter with Qobuz Connect remains in my case at the beginning of almost every track.

Hi,

Did you play songs for a long time with QC ? On my RS520, playing stops after approximately 30 minutes. And also I listen stutters.

I tried and by now it has been playing for the last 2,5 hours and everything is still working fine.

Hello Hans
In my experience, on albums where gapless playback is a necessity, the listening experience is completely ruined by the ever present stuttering. Playlists with “ pop music” also suffer from the same problem.
On the positive side, where there is a long gap between tracks ( say, between 1st & 2nd movement of a symphony ) it appears to work ok.
Bottom line is that, for me, QC doesn’t work as well as streaming via Rose Connect when streaming to my RS520.
It needs to be fixed and soon ( and not by toggling with daylight savings time - how bizarre is that ? ).

Effectivement, mĂȘmes symptĂŽmes chez moi !
Des amĂ©liorations sont Ă  apporter en espĂ©rant qu’elles ne seront pas trop longues Ă  venir (bĂ©gaiement, heure d’été )

Unrelated question:If your rs130 and rs520 are in similar listening environments, how would you compare the SQ of each one to the other? Thanks in advance for your opinion.

That’s very hard to compare since the two pieces are in completely different systems that are designed differently. The RS520 is operating as the system amp, DAC and preamp and honestly, it sounds amazing. It’s perfect for an office system like mine where I need to keep the system to a minimum footprint. The RS520 is driving a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 300s and does so with ease and authority. Sound quality imprecise, not harsh and very resolving. Volume levels reach far beyond what I typically would utilized in my office, but it is ver capable. I literally have zero complaints or criticisms of the RS520.

The RS130 is connected to an RD160 via SFP and then RD160 out via XLR to a McIntosh MA352 and then out to Focal Kanta 3 speakers
totally different scenario. There are multiple connections and components that comprise the overall sound. Sound quality
I would simply say, shockingly good in every way, just magical. The RS130/RD160 combination is truly a stunner.

I doubt that I ever would do this, but it would be interesting to insert the RS520 in my main system for use as a streamer only for the purpose of comparison with the RS130. Even then I would not be able to utilize SFP, would need to connect to the RD160 via USB.
