Looking at the sales literature, the device uses spotify connect.

What OS is the RW800 running?

Does this device have its own onboard DAC and if yes can this be bypassed as I don’t want the signal processed twice by the RW800 and my external DAC?

If you follow the link to the Rose site… they show some different scenarios.
If you connect your DAC via the optical out from the RW800 then the signal would be digital so it would bypass the local DAC. Digital In → Digital Out means its stays digital.

Depending on what you have… does this actually make sense? I mean if you’re running an RS520 and you’re feeding the music via USB from your laptop you will have spotify lossless Of course YMMV depending on your stack.
