New RA280 owner. Question about the subwoofer output

Just got the RA280. Trying to set up my SVS 3000 Micro subwoofer correctly. Should I set it for LFE or set the crossover manually? Is the sub out just sending a full frequency line out?

Thanks

@MostEisley

Sub-Woofer and Mono output is output at a maximum of 1Vrms (2.2dBu) up to 100kHz.
The reason for outputting up to 100kHz is to use this mono output as a line-in input for other devices.
Please adjust the frequency (LPF) by giving Cross-Over on the Active Sub-Woofer device.

Additional question here, for the physical connection between de ra280 and a subwoofer, is a mono RCA cable OK ? Then connect it to the subwoofer as LFE/red input ?
Or do you need a single RCA to Dual RCA ( white & red ) cable, then connect the single RCA to the ra280 and on the other end both white and red to the subwoofer input ? Thanks.

If the sub has an LFE input, connect to that. If it does not, check the manual, many will use one channel, left or right, as LFE.

Thank you for your question.
Yes, a single mono RCA cable is perfectly fine for connecting the RA280 to a subwoofer.

Recommended connection:
Connect one RCA cable from the SUB OUT (or Pre Out) of the RA280
To the LFE input (usually the red RCA input) on the subwoofer

This is the correct and standard method.
You do not need a single-to-dual RCA (Y-split) cable in most cases.
A Y-cable is only sometimes used with subwoofers that require signal summing from both left and right inputs, but when using the LFE input, the subwoofer already expects a mono signal and handles this internally.
