New Rose products HighEnd show in Munich

Hello dear forum members,

I visited the HighEnd show in Munich today and discovered some new Rose products that are not yet listed on their website.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take enough photos, but I might go back tomorrow.

1.	There was a streamer/DAC/preamp — I believe it was called the RS451.

2.	A really solid, heavy remote control that seems to be compatible with many devices.

3.	A small external box that connects to various Rose devices via USB-A and enables TIDAL and Qobuz Connect functionality.

Best regards :vulcan_salute:

What is this device RW 800 ?

More photos please.

WTF? :astonished: :man_facepalming: This kind of suggests the core Rose operating environment and software platform is so… I don’t know what - deficient? incapable? a mass of disastrous spaghetti code? that they have to build an external device to incorporate functionality that competitors are injecting into their products with almost no effort. I’m sorry, but this is a very telling sign with regard to what are likely severe limitations to our very expensive boxes. :disappointed:

Cool to see new products. Wonder what they’re all about too.

@ROSEHAN could you explain what the RW800 is for? Cheers

Do you, that Audio Rose has not only streamers in their portfolio?
Also for the older streamers (before the RS250 and the RS150 coming out) you will not get any firmware update anymore.
So for me it’s a good thing, that Audio Rose has now a small streamer in the pipeline.
With the RS250 and RS150 Qobuz connect is working fine, if you’re using the current beta firmware…

C’est vrai que c’est malheureux…pas envie de rajouter un boitier ! Petit espoir quand même…Qobuz Connect fonctionne en Early Access

Avec Ethernet filaire?

Oui, en ethernet filaire

I could easily live with the RW800!

I really like my RS150b and was aware even before buying it that it doesn’t support TIDAL Connect.
With the RW800, it now gets exactly the features I’ve missed the most — and the small box simply disappears behind the unit.

A friendly Rose representative at the show explained that TIDAL Connect isn’t feasible with the current operating system of the RS150b.

Of course, I’m aware that the RS150b and its software aren’t perfect in every aspect and that there’s still room for improvement — which is actually happening on a regular basis.

Surely, most of you could easily name other brands in this segment whose products and software also aren’t perfect — this isn’t something unique to Rose.

The RW800 is expected to cost around €200.

Best regards from Northern Germany

It seems weird to have to buy a “streamer for streamer”, no? To basically support software integrations, that have very little to do with hardware?

You don’t really have to buy this unit. You can use Tidal and Qobuz through the existing Rose systems. I am happy enough with Qobuz as is.

Not through Tidal connect.

Thanks for the good pictures. Are there any prices out(ok the RW800 for around 200€)?
It’s a shame, that the “support” in this forum don’t want to communicate with the users …
The headphone amp looks nice, but could have a bit more power and I don’t see the output impedance for cans.

I suspect anyone from HiFi Rose who could communicate in English (or other languages) had their hands full in Munich. It’ll probably take them a few more days before they’re back to regular activities.

Guys, why do some people care so much about having Tidal and Qobuz connect?

It doesn’t really do anything, apart from the fact that you don’t have to enter a password into the device, but listening through Connect doesn’t give you better quality music.

And in the Rose RS 151 Tidal and Qobuz can you listen through connect?

@cougar2025.
For me it’s all about sorting albums and playlists.
Within the Rose App, Tidal works very well since I can sort albums within the Rose app by Name Order, Latest Registration Order, Artist or Release Date. They are also presented in list view. Therefore, Tidal Connect is a “ nice to have” not a “ must have”.
By contrast, Qobuz only gives me the option to sort by “ Date Added” within the Rose App, which is next to useless. Albums are only presented in large album icons.
So why don’t I stay with Tidal ? My preferred genre is classical. Qobuz gives me a wider choice ( Tidal now seem to be offering more albums exclusively in Dolby Atmos which is not supported by Rose ), performances are often expertly reviewed helping me to select a given interpretation and very often the CD sleeve notes are included. The albums can be presented in list view or via album icons.
Others may have different priorities and tastes but these are mine.
The introduction of Qobuz Connect will be highly welcome ( just wish Sonos would do the same !!).

Hey… just don’t love to use crappy software. Tidal, Spotify, and Qubuz (and all the others) are primarily software companies, so their app is more intuitive and better designed. It’s just more fun to use. It’s part of the experience.

This new remote is a must have. I hope it`s a real product. Not only a design concept.
