Seems this year, Santa brought a new product RS151 as a new streamer.

It appears to be an RS 130 streamer combined with an RD 160 DAC.
Still waiting for competent third party reviews of the RD 160.
Looks like we are going to have an I2S channel selector like my LAiV DAC too.
It’s a visual stunner and a more powerful processor is a welcome addition. Also moving from Android 7 to version 12 is great. However, I’m concerned that the change from the AKM DAC Chips on the RD 160 to the ESS 9039 chips may not be an improvement. I fear it may be like the ChiFi DACs with the same excellent SNR but accompanied by the ESS’s analytical sound. Hopefully they have fixed the Infamous ESS IMD hump. IDK we’ll wait and see.

some better values (on paper) and compared to the RS130, no galvanic isolation on USB or LAN.
I had a 150B only some hours - and i liked my 150 with AKM better. Beside this, I’m going with an external DAC anyway - so still not sure which path to go.
Someone in my family wants a Streamer/DAC so maybe I change my RS150 to a RS130 or wait for the RS151.

I’d love to see a component by component comparison between the RS 130 + the RD 160 DAC to the RS 151. From what I think I see, the RS 151 looks like a winner in that head to head contest when judged on features and value. The only real negative I see is that in the RS 151 they used the ESS DAC chips instead of the AKM DAC chips which are reserved for the RD 160.

I have since sold my RS150B. Currently using a Eversolo A8 feeding a Laiv DAC via I2S.
Very happy with the performance, but have always been fond of the Rose products. Look forward to evaluating the 151.
