New Silver Remote for my RS 520 not seen

As @ROSEHAN says, 520 ships with the appropriate dongle (NEXT-1265WBTA, at least for my production run) in the box. You plug it into the USB port, and it allows WiFi and Bluetooth functionality in 520. Honestly, I am not sure if this was the best dongle choice, antenna is too big and heavy and the whole thing wiggles in the port, but it does work. If e.g. NEXT-531 also works, it might be better physically.

Now, the manual isn’t super clear that if you want to use a Bluetooth remote, a Bluetooth receiver needs to be installed, but… why would a dongle be included if it were built-in?..

I believe the metal chassis prohibits an adequate BT signal, thus necessitating the external dongle.

Aluminum probably doesn’t, but it would only be an issue if you stick the BT module in the middle of the mainboard without running an antenna in the case. Phones and laptops in metal chassis seem to work just fine without dongles.

That does make sense. :+1:t2:

When using Bluetooth on the RS520, some customers use it not only as a remote control, but also by connecting it to a cell phone or PC. In this case, you need to use Bluetooth, so you need a Bluetooth dongle.
