NFS access to local storage

Hello

i have a rose 150A (purchased second hand) and I would like to connect it to my local unix server that runs ZFS storage with NFS shares. It also supports SMB but for some reason Rose can’t read my SMBs while windows machines can. (Yes, the password got a special char).

NFS is overall more efficient on my local network and my small linux boxes such as Nvidia shield for an example are using NFS no problem. Is this something I can do today or does it need a feature request ?

Thanks
Meni

the reason seems to be smb v3 on your unix machine and smb v2 only support on your rose device. so you could tweak down the smb stuff on unix side to achieve smb access.

Can I choose which SMB version to work with in Rose ?

Also, as Rose is android based and has wifi, any chance to have chromecast functionality built in ?

I am asking because Tidal can stream to chromecast

Hello,

Rose supports SMB 2, but it doesn’t support SMB 3.
Also, no plan for chromecast at the moment.

you have to check your smb.conf to force version 2

With the latest update we get SMB 2. Do you know how do I get SMB 2 on Windows 8.2 ? I asked this in the forum, but no one respond.

Easy task

As far as i can remember, only smb v1 was a problem because this was disabled by microsoft / apple on their related operating systems in the past

If you cant access your windows share, then there is a problem with user account

Smb v2 shoud work out of the box
