Nomenclature for Network Settings

I have a question and a suggestion regarding the Network settings.

Currently, for example: smb is labeled “disable” by default and there is a slider switch to the right.

Does this mean that the function is disabled by default or does it mean the reverse, that one must change the slider from off to on to disable the smb function? Disable is an action verb in English. If the word used is to connote the current state it should be “Disabled” then after the slider is moved to “on” it would read “Enabled” or “Activated” as opposed to the current current nomenclature of “Activation”. It is universal practice to label the current state on switches so I would recommend that the word “Disable” be changed to “Disabled”.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

You must set the slider in SMB settings to ON to enable SMB.
Setting the slider in SMB settings to OFF means that SMB is disabled.

I will modify the words as you said to “Enabled” for OFF and “Activated” for ON.

Rosehan,

Thank you. I think I wasn’t as clear as I needed to be. “Activated” is good for “on”
I think it should be “Disabled” for “off”.

Thank you.
