PCM Delay Time Not Working!

Hello @ROSEHAN , I would like to know if this problem has been taken into account for study by your technical team?

@GuileZ_Kicked

I don’t know that this is a ROSE “bug” and I would be surprised if they could do anything about it. I have/had the same issue with my Holo May KTE until I disabled the PLL Phase Lock Loop on it. Some DACs don’t have a problem or delay some do, this is a DAC thing not a streamer thing. I previously ran into a similar issue between another streamer and my RME DAC.

In the end, I decided to use USB w/ Fiber SFP connection via RSA720 because it yielded the best SQ even over I2S and certainly over COAX.

Also, in my subjective experience/opinion, the UI/UX of Rose is highly inferior to ROON but YMMV.

@GuileZ_Kicked
This is a problem we are aware of.
We are aware of the phenomenon of the beginning part being cut off when connecting optical and coaxial, but it does not seem easy to solve.

  1. Does the same symptom occur even if you set the Max sample rate to 192kHz and the Resample rate to 192kHz in the PCM Resampling function in the output settings of your RS130?

  2. The symptom occurs differently depending on the DAC, but sometimes the DAC itself mutes and releases it when the sample rate changes.
    Please tell us the model name of the DAC you are using.

@HMANAZ Nothing to do with the DAC since I repeat it with Roon via the RS130, the problem does not exist. So Roon knows how to do it. Since in this case it is Roon who takes control of the software on the RS130.

Already tested this setting, it doesn’t change anything

Yes all DACs mute when changing resolution but here it is the RS130 that mutes even when there is no change in resolution when changing tracks. Just like when searching in the track itself.
Roon does not mute anything at all. Only when changing resolution. You have created a setting that does not work, it works in Roon. Apart from having a nice object if I have to use Roon constantly, the RS130 is no longer useful…
My Dac is an Accuphase DG 68 and my 2nd DAC is a HoloSpring 3 Level2

This issue has been a hot topic for us for some time.

We will look into this issue in more detail.

@GuileZ_Kicked

The next update will be released with a fix for the Tidal video output in low quality to be played in the highest quality.

The next update will fix the issue where the Rosetube video is played in a different language to be played in the original language (English).
We plan to fix the dubbing selection later.

@ROSEHAN Hello,
very well noted, thank you for taking the problem into account.
We will try to be patient.

Still no resolution of PCM Delay Time which has not been working since the start of marketing of the RS130 (soon 2 years!!!) with new OS 5.8, I’m losing patience…

@GuileZ_Kicked

We have been checking this issue as well, but there are cases where this symptom appears and there are cases where it does not appear for each Holo audio DAC.

Does this phenomenon not appear when you connect your DAC to another network streamer with optical or coaxial?

In the case of Holo audio DAC, there is a phenomenon where a lock occurs every time the sample rate is changed.

Hello, @ROSEHAN, :pray:
as I already mentioned, this ONLY happens on the AES/Optical and Coaxial outputs, regardless of the DAC I have. I got rid of the Holo DAC and now have an Accuphase DG68 DAC connected to the RS130 via coaxial output. The problem is the same. And I repeat once again: the problem DOES NOT EXIST with ROON. The digital delay is fully adjustable and fully functional, unlike the RS130’s OS. I’m going to test EA 5.8 tonight, but if you haven’t done anything on that front, the problem will still be there.

@ROSEHAN
For further information, the problem does not exist with RoseTube and YouTube. Only with everything else (Qobuz, Music stored in the RS130 or on the network…)

@GuileZ_Kicked

Rosetube and YouTube have nothing to do with each other.

There is a phenomenon where a lock occurs every time the sample rate is changed.

Hello @ROSEHAN
In fact, from the start, you’ve been compensating or deliberately misunderstanding to sidestep the issue. WE’RE FORGETTING THE FREQUENCY OR RESOLUTION CHANGE!
The RS130 mutes its digital output when there’s a track change with the same resolution or frequency. The RS130 mutes its digital output when a search is performed within the track being played.
The RS130 doesn’t mute its digital output when using ROON when changing tracks with the same resolution or frequency. The RS130 doesn’t mute its digital output when using ROON when searching within the track being played. The RS130 doesn’t mute its digital output when using RoseTube when changing tracks or performing a time search within the track. The digital delay setting in your software DOESN’T WORK. The problem does not exist with the USB output, only with the Optical/AES/Coaxial outputs. I’m going to make a video describing the problem because we’re never going to make any progress here.
All the other streamers I’ve tested don’t have this problem, which exists even with version 5.8.

@ROSEHAN watch my videos, So it’s infinitely more obvious to you?

Hello @ROSEHAN,
no reponse for me?

Same problem with Qobuz Connect, with an even higher latency at track start, we literally lose 2 seconds of music. Incomprehensible that you are not able to generate digital silence in the situations described.

Another example of why the RS130 works well for roon, CDs, and RoseTube. Everything else is just not for me: Apple, Qobuz, etc…

The RS130’s effectiveness in these reading applications has nothing to do with it, since the readers are not developed by Citech (Roon, etc.).
In these cases, the RS130 is simply an “endpoint.”
In other cases, it’s the RS130’s internal player software that’s working, and that’s where it doesn’t work as it should.

I have the same phenomenon with the Rs130 and Dac Accuphase

Cut with the Rose application and no cut with Roon
