Hi all, I have a Hifi Rose RS151, a Sony UBP-X800M2 4K Blu Ray player (which can also play SACD’s), an analog integrated amplifier and a CD-player which can only play “normal” CD’s.
The Hifi Rose RS151 is connected to the analog integrated amplifier via balanced RCA-cables.
The Sony UBP-X800M2 4K Blu Ray player only has HDMI- and Coaxial outputs, so no RCA-outputs, which means I cannot connect the Sony Blu Ray player, directly to my (analog) integrated amplifier.
Is it however possible to play the (stereo) DSD-layer of a SACD (so not the “normal” CD-layer) using the Sony UBP-X800M2 via the Hifi Rose RS151 towards my analog integrated amplifier ?
If yes, how should I connect all these devices and how should the settings (especially of the Hifi Rose) be done?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Best regards,
Jan
Unfortunately, it is not possible to play the stereo DSD layer of an SACD from your Sony UBP-X800M2 through the HiFi Rose RS151, because the RS151 does not support HDMI input, and DSD audio from SACDs can only be output via HDMI on your Sony player.
You can connect the Sony’s coaxial output to the RS151’s coaxial input, but this will only deliver PCM audio, not DSD.
For true DSD playback, we recommend using DSD files stored on USB, SSD, or a network drive, and playing them directly through the RS151.
What you can do: Buy a HDMI Audio Extractor like this https://ebay.us/m/z0H77g
Here you’ve DoP output over SPDIF coax, which can connected to your Rose device.
Too bad, but thank you very much for your quick and clear feedback, much appreciated !
