Plex Application

Maybe to Apple devices, from Apple Music you’d get 48/24. But they do not make it easy.

From a cursory glance, Plex itself does not include that functionality, it’s just a DLNA server (if you turn it on).

DLNA in general, being something very much developed by a committee, is as convoluted as it can be. There are Digital Media Servers (that’s what Plex can do), Digital Media Players (that would be something that actually lets you both browse/select what to play AND play it), Digital Media Renderers (they can only play something, if told so), and Digital Media Controllers (that would be the “something” that tells DMP to play).

As far as I could see, Rose is just a DMR. If you user an external app, like mConnect, or even Windows Media Player, you can tell Rose to play something from Plex’s DLNA server. But it does not seem to include the DMP functionality to browse server content. So mConnect or similar is probably your best bet, unless you decide to spring for Roon.

Thanks guys for your help and info :+1:

I am thinking more and more using roon, but 15 euro /month it’s the bad point, normally i prefer to buy softwares or apps but roon is very expensive to buy

Yes, Roon would be the best thing in your situation.
I also bit the bullet and got Roon.
The apple has ripened and is as sweet as sugar.

Of course, Roon costs money again, but I wouldn’t want to be without it anymore.
Besides, a hobby costs money.
It’s better than spending thousands of dollars on power cables or gold-plated fuses.
Roon really does something and you can sit back and relax…:notes: :musical_score: :musical_note:

I’d say it really depends on what you listen to and how. If all you want is making a playlist and having it play, Plex with some decent control app would work fine. If you have use for extra features Roon has and listen regularly… it was worth it for me enough to get a lifetime license a week into trial…

I finally went for mconnect,I bought it, it’s cheap and sends music via dlna to my rs250a in original format. I will see in the future what rose will do to improve the software then maybe go to roon :eyes::hugs:🫠

Well, the thing with Roon is that with it you do not really care about Rose software at all. But mConnect should work fine too, as long as you are happy with features.
