Pop Sound over i2s with RS130

Hello, The hdmi cable has nothing to do with the popsound, I have 3 cables, 2 of which are Audioquest Dragon 48 and Firebird, I also have Ricable Hdmi for i2s.

The below was posted on the FB page for Hifi Rose users in the USA. I think they are onto something re: Pops are related to caching scheme. @ROSEHAN can you please address this concern that seems to impact a lot of folks but Hifi Rose continues to ignore.

FROM FACEBOOK USER GROUP:

“Checking out the Rose RS130 network transport at a dealer feeding an Electrocompaniet DAC streaming Qobuz as the source. Using the Rose app on an iPad it operated well with good responsiveness. The only issue encountered was that when selecting a new track each time before it would start to play we heard an audible tick, tick, tick through the speakers until the track began. It wasn’t static but a clear ticking sound as it seemed to be buffering the data until the new track played. At first I thought it might be a bug in the firmware, but then realized it sounds very much like the sound you hear when cueing a track on an LP for playback, as the stylus first contacts the vinyl and then drops into the groove. Has anyone else experienced this noise? Maybe it’s selectable in a menu somewhere to enable or disable? Could be network issues at the dealer since they have a ton of devices active on the store’s network. Not sure what to think about it and would appreciate other’s input.”

Hi Rosehan. I haven’t seen any news here regarding our issue with pop sound on i2s. At least tell us know if Hi-fi Rose are considering to solving it or not. I remind you, I have a Rockna Wavedream dac connected to i2s, on dsd it pops in different situations, even when listening to PCM if I pause the song, the dac screen displays dsd.

Hello,
No problems or pop sound here with my Terminator and i2s on RS130.
Greetings

This is a hard problem to deal with, in some defense of HiFi Rose. It will either be there or not depending on the streamer and the DAC, and even sometimes vary on whether either the USB or the I2S interface on the DAC is being used.

Hello, I have the same problem with a Holo Spring 3 DAC when I deactivate the Holo PLL (required otherwise the DAC takes 16 seconds to lock between each track).
It’s really starting to cause a lot of problems with this streamer, between the incompatibility with Roon which is still current, the various software bugs, the catastrophic network performance more than 100 times below what is announced (50-70 mbit/s at instead of 1000 Mbit/s :-O) and there I have a friend who exchanges his RS130 for another because the USB output for the DAC does not work.

Any updates to this concern for many current Hifi Rose users?

No problem, in their silence I thought better, as a result ROCKNA WAVELIGHT SERVER is on the way.
