Preout level setting

Hello,

What the best preout setting for Luxman 509z on hifi rose 150b?

Thanks

I’d like to know this as well.

I checked the input sensitivity of the Luxman L-509Z integrated amplifier.

I recommend using the pre-out level setting of your Rose device at 200mV.
If you feel that the sound is too low at the setting value, you can set it a little higher, but if you set it too high, clipping may occur.

Hello,

I tried 200mv, the sound is really not loud, I have to almost turn the volume up to the maximum to get some power. If I put it higher than 200mv, can I damage something?

Why not offer an option on 150B to bypass the preamp like other products offer (Volume passtrough)?

Thanks.

@fredg101

Increasing the pre-out level setting will not damage your device, but may cause clipping.

I have played around with the settings and settled on 1000mv which sounds great at all levels. No clipping

@Ataripower

If you can set it to 1000mV and it still sounds good, then it’s okay to use.

Hello,

What the best preout setting for Hifi Rose RA280 on hifi rose 150b?
Thanks!

@AMS

When setting the pre-out level on the RS150B, it is best to match it appropriately with the RA280.

As a starting point, we recommend setting the RS150B pre-out level to 2000 mV for RCA or 4000 mV for XLR.
If you notice any clipping or distortion, please gradually lower the pre-out level until the issue is resolved.
