Proposals for changes to the interface of ROSE products

So far, the ROSE fullscreen interface has been considered clear, logical and very attractive. The cover CD album or the logo internet radio station looks very nice. The new UI features are useful, but have unfortunately made the UI look a bit worse. Therefore, it seems to me that the new functions should be implemented as graphic icons, not captions.

For example, the “music search” function may be presented as an icon. The CD cover can then be in a 1: 1 aspect ratio. I present the proposed changes in the screenshots:

Alternatively, the currently existing signatures may be shown only after touching the screen or pressing the remote control button.

It would be useful to be able to save selected SSD directories to your favorites

It would also be good to use the buttons on the remote control. The 3 dash key could start the album functions or music search functions in full screen mode.

I think these changes would bring back the clarity of the full screen appearance while playing music. I really like my ROSE RS 201. Sorry for mistakes in English.
If You accept the proposed changes to the interface, please leave your comments.

Also… Maybe have an option to take off the super close up blurred album art behind the entire now playing screen. Or just remove it. The title and artist credits look better with a completely black background. The album art looks nice to the side in full color. Find an album with a dark color and play a track and you will see. Also maybe an option in settings to show album title as well as year of release. Something like…

“Computer Blue” by Prince and The Revolution
From the album Purple Rain (1984)

I’m dreaming…

The main thing that bothers me is that the captions of “Lyric”, “Album” and “Music search” are covering the album cover when playing music.

Hello, thank you for your sincere words.
I can’t say for sure that will change, but I’ll discuss it with the development team carefully.

Best Regards,

Hello

How can I use the remote control to switch from file selection or Internet station selection to full screen view with the cover and title of the media being played?
In my opinion, the icon for switching to full screen is missing from the available icons.
Now you need to go to the home screen and click on the title of the song in the bar and then run play.
But switching to full screen with the remote control is a typical functionality.

Hello @Grex ,

I would recommend you to follow this setting.

  1. Go to your ROSE streamer.
  2. Go to ‘Settings’
  3. Go to ‘System Settings’
  4. Tap 'Remote control favorite settings
  5. ‘Current playback screen’
  6. You can use ‘favorite’ button on your remote to move to ‘current playback screen’
(There’s a ‘ROSE’ logo button with your remote. It’s the ‘favorite’ button)

If it doesn’t work, please let me know.

Thank you very much for your quick help.
I’m surprised that my problem could be solved so easily. It is true that I had a different function set under the “favorite” button. But the ‘Current playback screen’ function is the most important to me. I am very satisfied with the operation of this solution.

Among the useful functions, it would be advisable that after clicking, for example, the “Music” application on the main screen, the device would return to the last used item in the menu of this application. So, for example, to the “Folder” position and not always to “Albums”. This is very important when playing files from SSD.
Similarly, in “RoseRadio” I always go to “My Radio” where I already have my favorite stations. But unfortunately the system always starts from the “Recently played” position. And I have to click several times until “My Radio”.
It would be great if in the settings of the “Music”, “RoseRadio” and other applications you could set your own starting position or at least the last one used.
This is my and my colleagues’ suggestion for those programming the ROSE interface to consider.

I also noticed that the button with three lines on the remote control is very rarely used. Maybe it would allow you to go to an item selected in the options, for example your favorite stations or a recently used folder SSD.

Thank you for your help so far and for answering my questions and ideas.
