Qobuz Connect Feature

On the touchscreen, go to Settings > System Info > Use The Early Access Version > [TRY]

Doesn’t work for me. I am on early access, but RS130 is connected via fiber ethernet.

I’m considering selling my RS-151 and switching to another brand that has qobuz / Tidal connect. It must be possible to get this on hifi rose toošŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

Yes, a lot of answers (and I’m here some years) from the ā€œsupportā€ are confusing.
With the current beta, Qobuz Connect is working (you’ve to install after update the Qobuz app, login and agree for Qobuz connect).
But it’s not working smoothly. Like using an Eversolo streamer, you can have shortly after starting a new track glitches.
The occurs not every time and so I’m not sure that this can be a problem on the Qobuz side.

je me suis mis en Early Access, et effectivement Qobuz Connect fonctionne, mais impossible de recharcher l’appli Rose Connect EA sur mon PC…du coup je suis repassĆ© en Firmware officiel…on attendra

I can confirm that Qobuz Connect works with wired Ethernet on my RS130, after installing the EA version of the 130 SW and FW (a FW update came up on my 130 after the EA SW was installed and rebooted), and the EA version of the Rose app.

This may be a Qobuz Connect issue, but when playing a Qobuz Playlist, each song that starts after the first song stutters for a moment or two when starting, but plays smoothly from there. When using Qobuz from within the Rose app, this does not happen when playing the same Playlist.

If you’re looking to sell your 151, check out Lyngdorf.

All the devices are a jack of all trades. I’m using the 3400 on @BorisM recommendation. I’m super happy with it. The room calibration with RoomRefect alone, which is more important to me than a fancy display, makes all the difference to the Rose. Qobuz Connect integration works flawlessly. Tidal Connect is also integrated (it’s been for a long time).

Or now also with a touchscreen.

Check out the website if you don’t want an amplifier.

Qobuz Connect runs smoothly on my TDAI. Just like Tidal Connect.

A lot of people here want it, and I have both services on Connect, so I don’t need it. I stream via Roon (no Muse… I do everything on Lyngdorf (RoomPerfect, Crossover, Vocings, etc.).

:v:t2:

The track start stutter does not occur with mConnect, either. I’m concluding at this point it’s likely a Qobuz Connect issue.

Tried it on my RS130 (EA), and I guess it auto-updated. Qobuz Connect works! I have it connected via fiber ethernet, no studder for me. Time to cancel Roon.

Well that didn’t last long. Now the RS130 does not appear in the Qobuz Connect list anymore.

Perhaps another reset, or running the FW update, asTony suggested?

After resetting the system to factory settings and then reinstalling the EA version, I managed to get Qobuz Connect working. Everything plays perfectly over LAN. If ROSE takes similar steps with Tidal, it might be time to confidently jump off ROON.

@GingerBeard Dude, now there’s definitely a difference between playback via Qobuz Connect and ROON.

Can someone carefully listen to the track Horizon by Ƙystein SevƄg starting from the 4-minute mark and compare by switching between the two protocols?

To my ears, Qobuz Connect has slightly more treble and a bit less bass.

The sound is wonderful!! Freaking amazing sound!! :joy:

I may try restoring the original firmware, then reinstalling the EA, but worried about bricking my device. Is there any reason to think that’s a possibility? You’d think their parent company would help them out with their software, as they are a touchscreen/user interface kiosk company.

@VIK I’ll take a listen when I get this running. Beware of the Boris, talking like that! lol

You need to roll back to the old, main version, then restart the device, go into settings, and tap on Install EA version. Nothing will happen to the device — I do this often, precisely because their OS version is unstable.

In fact, it’s unstable even on the main OS, which is why I switched to Roon. Before that, I was listening via DLNA. ROSE always sounds good when it’s the endpoint. But everything together is a mess.

Yes, I want you to listen and tell me what you think.

Something’s happening and it plays a bit differently — I don’t know what protocol Qobuz Connect uses, and maybe there’s some kind of sound pre-processing going on.

If that’s the case, then it actually sounds really great — I’m happy with it. And I’d be glad to invite @BorisM . Maybe he knows something about this… and how much beer it takes to figure it out. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hello,
So much the better for you if it works!
I have ā€œROSE A8 Qobuz connectā€ that appears, but when I click on it, it turns it turns…in the void.
It only works with Airplay (with a Macbook Intel).

With a sufficient application of alcohol (or acid…) you can hear absolutely anything. And sometimes Qobuz or Tidal have different versions of an album, and it is not a given that Roon and the native Qobuz client are playing the same one. And it’s all digital, it’s quite easy (albeit I doubt that Rose’s developer team could do it  ) to make it rickroll you if you are playing through Roon, and bump the volume up if you are playing Qobuz directly. Absent that though, it’s just useless sighted comparisons that have zero value.

Well, if it is superficial and unnecessary, it is not necessary HiHi!
