Question on coax input on the RS520

Hi,

I have an iBasso DX180 DAP.
The 3.5mm output doubles as a SPDIF (coax) output.

I’ve connected it as coax in and am running spotify on the DX180 as the input to the RS520.

I just wanted to confirm that the RS520 is taking the COAX input and running it thru its DAC.

Hello,
Please go to RS520 > IN/OUT Settings.

  1. Check if COAX IN is enabled under INPUT.
  2. Check if PREAMP OUT or SPEAKERS OUT is enabled under OUTPUT.

If both 1 and 2 are enabled and you can hear music normally, then it is operating as you described.

I was really just curious to make sure that the coax in is going thru the DAC chip.

So essentially if you have a separate DAC w a digital out (SPDIF or TOSLink) you’ll end up with your music going thru two different DACs which should yield in a better sound.

I guess the fact that I or anyone else can google CAT 7 RJ45 cables and get links to Amazon, NewEgg, MicroCenter… and find list of products to buy.

And yes, Playing the sound thru a DAC changes it.
Or do you not believe in this magical technology?

That you are not capable of looking up CAT7 standard that quite clearly states that a CAT7 cable (if it is CAT7 and not something sold to brain-dead audiophools like you with a “cat7” label) should not and will not plug into an RJ-45 jack… well, that’s your problem, although your insistence on making sure that everyone knows that you are neither competent nor intelligent is surprising.

How do you “play sound” through two DACs? Or did you already forget what you wrote? Which you likely did, being senile and all.

If you believe in magic, maybe you should put up your Depends (so as not to embarrass yourself even more) and hang out at Disneyland? Would be better for everyone that you spouting nonsense here.
