RA-180 remote control flashes continuously

optimize

If you notice, the flashing goes in time with the musicā€¦Forgive me, Iā€™m joking. Of course, have you already tried taking the batteries out and putting themā€¦ but replace them ?

I wish they would flash to the beat of the music :grinning:
I replaced the batteries with new ones but without success. The remote control keeps flashing until it runs out of batteries. And by the way, no, it doesnā€™t respond to any key.

It should have a small hole for the reset, I have the black remote on the 150b it should also be there on your new model. Trial.

Thanks. But there is no hole in the RA-180 remote control.

Hello,

Does the issue persists even after replacing to new battery?
Please check the message.

Yes. The problem persists even after replacing new batteries. I have two ROSE RA-180 and the problem is with both remotes.

Hello,

Two RA180 remote are showing the same issue as the photo? Thatā€™s really rare caseā€¦ I hope to know more details -

  1. Did the issue occur to both remotes at the same time?
  2. When you use the remote, does it work? For example, can you change RA180 input with the remote?
  3. Would you press the buttons one by one, if thereā€™s any change?

Best Regards,

Thank you for promptly responding and checking. Here are the specifics. After installing a new battery, the remote control will operate for a specific period of time (usually between an hour to two days). While resting, the remote suddenly starts blinking randomly. At this point, it wonā€™t respond to any pressing until it runs out of batteries. Removing the batteries for 10-20 minutes and reinstalling them is the only way to stop this. However, the problem persists over and over again. I use new and high-quality batteries, such as Sony batteries with an expiration date of 2029, as well as batteries from other manufacturers.

Hello,

Would you check the message I sent you previously?

  1. Both remotes suffer from the same problems.
  2. When the remote is not in ā€œblinking modeā€ - they work well. When they blink - they did not respond to any key pressed.

Any update on this?!

In a prior post on this topic, the HiFi Rose rep suggested obtaining a replacement remote control from the regional distributor. The post included a link to help locate the distributor.

I requested a replacement remote control and received it this week. Unfortunately, the replacement remote control also flashes and issues unprovoked commands.

Is it possible to differentiate remote controls that are of the earlier vintage vs an updated version? The replacement remote looks identical to the original.

Hello everyone,

This is my first post in this forum.
Iā€™ve read almost everything posted here, appreciate the efforts of the ROSE team, and hope that my small issue can be resolved quickly.

First, let me say:
My RS150b runs stably and without any problems, both with the old and the new software versions!

However, the remote control behaves similarly to what is shown in the picture above.
It blinks irregularly a few times every couple of minutes, during which the display on the RS150b briefly changes. This happens every few minutes, but the intervals are inconsistent.

No inputs are registered, nothing changes on the screen, and the sound remains flawless.

The battery hasnā€™t needed replacing, and all the buttons work perfectly.
However, the irregular and bright blinking is especially bothersome in a dark room.

My dealer has already replaced it with a new remote, but the new one has the same issue.
At first, I thought it was fine, but after a few days, the problem reappeared.
The same thing seems to happen if I remove the batteries for a short time and then put them back in.

Does anyone have an idea how this issue can be resolved?

Best regards

@Akkuking

It looks like the batteries in your remote need to be replaced.
When the voltage of the remote battery gets low, the warning LED will blink to indicate that it needs to be replaced.

Thank you for the quick response!

To help with troubleshooting, I will gladly follow your advice and share the results here.

Why do I doubt that the batteries are the issue?

1.) The RS150b, and therefore the remote control, were brand new.
I noticed the irregular blinking of the LED within the first few days.
The replacement remote was also new and is only a few weeks old now.
The VARTA batteries you use are made in Germany and appear to be of high quality.

2.) I think itā€™s great that the remote indicates the end of its battery life with the blinking LED.
What I donā€™t understand is why it also sends a signal to the RS150b at the same time, causing the screen to flicker.
Is this really intentional, that the LED signals a battery replacement AND the display flickers as well?

Best regards

Hello,
I had the same problem with my RS150B. My local distributor kindly replaced the remote, but that did not solve the problem. Next, the distributor provided a new WiFi dongle. Problem solved!

The new dongle is physically larger than the original with a hinged antenna section.

Thank you, Roger,

Thanks for the tip.

My remote is blinking again even after replacing the batteries.
Your solution sounds more plausible to me, and I will share this suggestion with my dealer.

Best regards

@Akkuking

Please check a few things.

  1. Please check if the same symptom occurs even after replacing the battery of the remote control with a new one.
  2. If the above does not work, contact the distributor in the country where you purchased RS150b and request a new remote control and dongle.

Problem solved:

I received a new Bluetooth dongle from my dealer, the one with the huge, swiveling antenna.

Now, just like with rft129878, the error is fixed!

Thanks for the tip and best regards :vulcan_salute:
