RA80 Mono Amp Pre Amp to Follow?

I wonder if with the introduction of the RA80 mono amp we will be getting a Pre-amp from HiFi Rose to match?..

The last Pre Amp is the RS451 which is still relatively a new product.

@Geoff

At this time, we have not received any information regarding a dedicated preamplifier designed to match the RA80.

However, customer feedback and suggestions are continuously shared with our product planning and development teams. HiFi ROSE is also exploring opportunities to expand its product lineup in order to provide more complete and refined audio system solutions.

That’s a tough one.

Based on the feedback from the Orchard Audio traveling road show where a pair of Starkrimson
amps are rotated amongst potential customers for review… Many suggested pairing a GaN Amp w a tube pre-amp.

The feedback was that the amp was crystal clear and precise, yet some felt it was too ‘sterile’ (my phrase) and they did not emotionally connect to the music. Others didn’t share that view.

The trouble is that w a good clean amp / system… good recording sound great. bad recordings sound like carp. [sic]

I would love to see a new and improved RS451 paired. Better clock , DAC, etc…

One option would be daughter cards for the DAC. So that you could swap DAC chips. (ESS PRO, AKM, R2R) along w being able to roll op-amps. (Some prefer Sparkos over Burson , etc…)

And while some of that may be over the top… maybe look at partnering w some sort of room correction?

@Smegel

Thank you for your suggestions. I would like to respond to the points you raised.

  1. Regarding a higher-end RS451 model or a successor preamplifier, there are currently no such products on our official roadmap. If a higher-tier model based on the RS451 is planned in the future, we will be happy to share that information when it becomes available.
  2. Regarding the idea of a user-configurable DAC platform, this would be difficult for us to adopt. Allowing users to choose different DAC architectures would require multiple product variations with different pricing structures, and it would significantly increase the complexity of product development, manufacturing, inventory management, and support.
  3. I have forwarded your comments and DSP feature request to our software development team for review. They will evaluate the feasibility of implementing features such as DSP, Parametric EQ, and Room Correction, while also considering the points you raised regarding market expectations and competitive offerings.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback and continued support of HiFi ROSE.
