Random songs played when I skip a song

Hi there,

When I open a Tidal playlist in the Rose Connect Premium app and tap a song, after the song finished, a random song is played rather than the next song in the playlist. Same in the Rose Connect One app.

I then added the full playlist to the queue and started playing it. But if I want to start the e.g., 6th song in the list by tapping on it in the playlist, again, the 7th song of my playlist is NOT played afterwards, instead some random, totally unrelated song is played.

To overcome this, I additionally have to open the queue and there, if I select song 6 it plays song 7 afterwards.

Did I missunderstand the concept of playlists? Why do I need to take extra steps when I already selected the songs I want to listen to by selecting my playlist?

Can I change this behaviour somewhere?

Thanks for your support!

At the bottom of the queue, there’s a Recommended… feature that’s probably ON. Turn off the feature.

When the queue is empty, this feature automatically recommends music similar to the last played song.

If your playlist has 7 tracks, you might expect that when you play the 6th track, the 7th track will play next.

However, since we support multiple music streaming apps on a single device, we use a unified Queue system.

A Queue is a list of tracks being played. When you select any track to play—whether from a Playlist, Apple Music, Qobuz, Tidal, RoseTube, etc.—that track is added to the queue. The queue can hold up to 3000 tracks. If additional tracks are added after reaching 3000, the earliest added track will be removed in order.

Therefore, if you select and play just one track from a playlist, only that track will be played, and the next track from the playlist will not automatically follow.

If you want to play your playlist sequentially starting from a specific track, please tap the three-dot menu icon next to the desired track and select “Play from here.”

Hi ROSEHAN,

again thanks for the explanation.

At first, for me your UX choice here sounds like a cool feature, but… normally, I use only one provider (Tidal) to listen to my music. There I have several playlists which I use. So if I enter the playlist and want to listen from song 1, I expect that if I click this song, next song will be song 2 (they are in an order for a reason). I see no reason to add another step here to force me to use three dots and select some menu item.

Especially, when the resulting behaviour at the moment is that I click a song in a playlist and then the queue gets filled with absolutely random songs after my selected song, instead of filling the queue with the rest of the playlist. That makes no sense to me, sorry.
That is not intuitive, in all other apps, you would, if in a playlist, just click the song and it would continue the playlist from there. This is literally the purpose of a playlist.

However, I appreciate your prompt response and will play around a bit and see if I can adapt / get more familiar to the current system.

Then, I will explain how to have the next track play automatically when you select a song from a playlist without using the three-dot menu.

If you set it as follows, the next track in the playlist will play automatically when you select any song, without needing to press the three-dot menu:

Rose device → Settings → Audio Settings → Play from here → OK
