RD 160 update issue

Hi,
After updating the DAC to the latest version I have encountered a hissing sound from the speakers. It worked fine initially, but after first stand by it becomes noticeable.
I’ve tried resetting, nothing seems to work. It starts hissing immediately after the source is on, on all inputs.
I am using the RS 130 streamer.

Anyone has this problem?

We apologize for the inconvenience.

At this time, we have not received any reports of this type of hissing noise occurring after the latest update, and we have also not been able to reproduce the same issue in our internal testing.

To help us investigate the cause, could you please provide the following additional information?

  1. Please let us know the firmware version currently installed on your DAC.
  2. How is your RS130 connected to the DAC?
    (USB, Coaxial, Optical, AES/EBU, I2S, etc.)
  3. Does the same hissing noise occur when the RS130 is completely disconnected from the DAC?
  4. Does the same noise occur on all DAC inputs even when no other source devices are connected?
  5. If possible, please send us a short video showing the hissing noise and your current connection setup .

Once we receive this information, we will review the issue further.

Hi,

I have tried both software versions available on the official download website, same issues after standby. Before it was fine.

The hissing noise was present on both SFP and USB inputs, even when music was not playing.

I have tried the COAX as well, in this case the sound came distorted and hissed only when music was being played.

I have already sent the DAC to the dealer for investigation, they have reverted today with feedback that there was a software error.

You may check directly with them (Tehnica Vizuala Cluj, RO) about the problem and the fix. It seems that reverting to v1.24 worked.
