Remote control options for Rose!

At the time i thought ‘why is the IR sensor not built in’? and put it back.

About the self motivated volume action on the Bluetooth RCU i can tell some stories. My RCU had to be replaced 4x until it was good. Fortunately the shop were i bought the RS520 was really friendly with support and sent me the RCU without any ‘paperwork’

Hello Ben,

I had looked into the device in detail before buying it (you certainly did too). I already knew it from my LG OLED55C27LA OLED evo TV. There was also a cable with a 3.5mm jack plug and the sensor(s) consisted of two hemispheres that you stick onto the panel from behind or onto the electronic unit below. My previous LG Oled didn’t have that either. The sensor was also installed very discreetly on the front.

…and are you happy with IR ???

:v:t2:

I have the RS130 and there seems to be an IR sensor on the lower, right-hand side of the face of the unit. I have an IR device mounted on the front and it works like a charm. I’m using URC Complete Control for iPad kit and have had no issues controlling the RS130 using my iPad remote.

Even LG OLED televisions have an IR sensor on the front center on the bottom edge and their remotes are propietary Magic remotes.

Oh yes i checked details before buying incl. the Bluetooth RCU i knew about.
Yet i am used to IR RCU which gives a more quick direct feeling and there is no digital intellect between receiver and sender. The IR technology between RCU and analog audio devices is what i know.
I think that IR feels better but i have yet to try more.

Again i expect such sensors to be built in not attached by a cable.

For exactly the reason you mentioned, I immediately left the old long USB WiFi/Bluetooth dongle in the box, as I know that too many devices in the WiFi also interfere with Bluetooth. In addition, the response time of IR was always more pleasant for me. You’ve read enough about what’s wrong with the dongle here. The 151 now has a built-in Bluetooth antenna, as it should be… nicely hidden at the back. At least I think so.

but this long thing lives up to its translation.

The term dongle is probably derived from the verb “to dangle”. In German it means “to hang down” or “to dangle”. In its original meaning, a dongle is a copy protection plug, also known as a hardware key.

:joy:

I repeat, this ugly thing is in its original packaging and remains in the box.
