Does anyone else suffer from a poor connection to Roon? The playback jumps to the next song on its own. Stops in the middle of the track…
It’s not an internet connection, other devices work perfectly.
Works fine for me (Roon is about the only thing that has always worked without any issue on my Roses).
As a note, RAAT is far more sensitive to network quality than usual streaming setups – it keeps far smaller buffers to allow for exact zone synchronization. How are you connecting? If WiFi, can you temporarily try Ethernet and see if the problem persists?
I Use Ethernet. Maybe the problem is in my specific product
Room always worked in the past. The 150B is new, I have started to understand that this model has many bugs and issues
That’s unfortunate. Roon works perfectly well with my 250 and 520, but that doesn’t help you…
Are you doing any MUSE processing with Rose? Maybe check the processing speed indicator, in case the problem is on the server side. Maybe also try a different Ethernet cable, I’ve seen instances when the cable was going just enough bad that it would generally work, but caused enough retransmissions to affect things more sensitive to network performance.
Another thing to try would be to just ping Rose’s IP address and see if you get any packet loss. On a local network there should not be any, so if you see some it might indicate problems.
One more thing you could try, if you have a spare switch is using a different switch.
I just had a situation when a device plugged into one of my downstream switches would skip in Roon (or Qobuz) and Shield TV and a smart TV plugged into that switch would buffer video a bit too often. I didn’t pay too much attention to it because video is fat and does need buffering ever so often, but I got a new switch today (it’s a POE switch destined to power some cameras I am planning to hang outside, when I get around to it) and thought to test it on a lark. Yup, skipping and buffering went away (SQ, obviouslky, did not change ).
I guess one moral is “don’t use cheap-o Netgear trinkets” but might be worth trying out.
