ROON on Mac Mini doesn't find Rose RS250

I bought a Mac Mini to use as ROON core, but it doesn’t find my Rose as output device. If I unistall ROON and reinstall it does find it right away, but after a few times switching on and off the Mac, the problem returns.
I have made exceptions for ROON and ROON core in my firewall settings.
The Rose is visible in the list of network devices, but ROON doesn’t find the Rose.

On the ROON community page I found the problem is related to OS Sequioa 15.4

@Martinjunte
Can that really be true??? :thinking: :face_with_monocle:

I’m using a MacBook Pro M3pro with the latest firmware (Mac OS Sequoia 15.6.1) and I don’t have any issues with Roon.

:v:t2:

If your Rose device is visible on the network but intermittently not discovered by Roon, it usually indicates a network discovery/communication issue rather than a device fault. Since reinstalling Roon allows the device to appear temporarily, we recommend checking the following:

  1. Roon Settings
  • Ensure that both “Roon” and “RoonServer” have full network access permissions in your macOS firewall/security settings.
  • Confirm that Roon is running on the same subnet as your Rose device.
  1. Network Environment
  • If you are using managed network switches or multiple routers, please check that multicast/broadcast traffic (used for Roon discovery) is not being blocked.
  • Assigning a static IP address to your Rose device can also improve stability in discovery.
  1. Restart Sequence
  • Try restarting your Rose device first, then your Mac Mini with Roon Core, to see if the device is consistently discovered in this order.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, please share your network setup details (router/switch model, wired vs. Wi-Fi connection, etc.) so we can provide more specific guidance.
