Rose 130 lagging HELP

I have a brand new Rose 130. For 1 week it has been fine. Today it is badly lagging when playing Tidal. It is loading extremely slowly. It is not my Internet problem because my TV is connected to the same mesh router and no issues streaming 4k.

Chain - TP Link Deco mesh router → Shunyata Sigma rj45 → LHY SW-6 switch → Finisar FTLF1318P3BTL SFP → Commscope FFWLCLC42-JXF004 → Finisar FTLF1318P3BTL SFP → Rose 130B → Tubulus Ximius i2s → Laiv Harmony DAC.

I have restarted Rose, rebooted network, logged out of Tidal and back in. Running version 5.7.

@rosehan please reply ASAP, it is absolutely unlistenable now. Tidal thru Rose app plays 5 to 10 seconds of a song, then stops for 30 secs, starts playing for another 5 seconds then stops for another 30 sec. Doesn’t cache properly.

Really ? Is there any RS130… B ?

Ti dò un consiglio…

Prova a collegare il cavo ethernet dal Rose DIRETTAMENTE al router! ( quindi NON passando dallo switch di rete )

Io avevo lo stesso problema e ho RISOLTO COSI!

Then that defeats the purpose of having an SFP input or using fiber… which is a major selling point for this device.

Looking forward to a reply from @ROSEHAN on this

I’m having no issues playing through the SW-6 switch with sfp.

Nethi83 could perhaps also de-install and then re-install Tidal and be sure to delete anything in cache.

I’ve just taken delivery of a 130 and 160 today.

High resolution tracks through QOBUZ buffer and then dropout. I was using a WiiM ultra as a temp solution for 3 months prior to today - no issues.

It seems to be on the highest resolution tracks.

I have 100mb wired network to a Melco Switch, and then Fibre from there into the 130.

Broadband into the house is 500Mb.

Quite worrying - as I didn’t have this issue with the WiiM. This track is the first track on my playlist - so hit the problem immediately. Lower resolution tracks seem fine.

Same issue on Tidal - same track - lower bitrate on there - same dropouts.

I can see the buffered data reduce to nothing - then dropout - then the buffer builds up again - then play. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Never had the issue on the same track and the same Network on WiiM.

(See the buffering “wheel” on the still above)

No issues here on Qobuz via Roon through the RS130 to RD160 all fiber connected.

Rose doesn’t buffer and hangs (buffering) mid track when connected as follows :

  1. Router direct to Rose with rj45
  2. Router to Rose thru WiFi
  3. Router to switch to Rose thru all rj45
  4. Router rj45 to switch fiber to Rose

Only tidal. YouTube and Spotify thru Rose work fine.

I’m using connection method 4 - but still it hangs. I will do some more tests, and dig out the WiiM for comparison.

I have had the same issue. First of all we can not compare TV or Apple music with Tidal becasue TV or Apple music have set VoIP priority during transmision. Tidal has not (do not ask me why). I have tried to change this priority but it was not the final solution becouse it was walid only from my router to Rose. Eventually I have changed three things:

  1. switch of jumbo frames on my network devices
  2. connect Rose as close as possible to your first Internet router (I have had WAN/LAN → Switch → switch → Rose, after change I have WAN/LAN → Rose)
  3. switch on buffering in Tidal app on Rose (in settings)

Dear friends, it means that an error has occurred and the cache memory inside rose has been blocked. Proceed as follows, whenever the problem occurs: restart rose, without any other operation and without pressing play, go to settings and clear the cache memory. If anything other than “NORMAL” appears, restart and repeat the procedure. Simple. Success!
