Hello,

The light above volume control blinks when ‘Attenuator’ is ON. Please check the attenuator switch on lower right.
About RIAA, would you explain more in detail what you connected and played?

Thank you, switch attenuator to of and the light stop flashing. But the noise from the turntable increased a lot instead. My turntable is Hanss T20 with a MC pickup, i have grounded like i should and there was no noise with my Devialet amp. As it is now you cant listen to the record.

Hello,

  1. Is it a hum noise?
  2. Do you hear the noise from RA180 unit itself? Or from speaker?
  3. Do you hear the noise when you’re not playing something with the turntable? (Stopped turntable)
  4. If you have any other sound source other than turn table, do you hear the same noise with others as well?
  5. Is your RA180 set on MC? (MM or MC button is on rear panel of RA180)
  6. It would be great if you can send me a video of your situation, with noise recorded because there are a lot of types of noises in the world. Would it be possible to make a video to show your situation?

Best Regards,

Hi again
It is like Pink noise between songs and not playing anything when phono is activated. I turned the powercable so i got phase right and also plugged in a filter then it was almost quiet but not deadquiet, my Devialet amp was deadquiet regardless of volume without filter. I think this one also should be that. I Know it is difficult to get there when the RIAA amp is in the same box, but it should bee in such advanced product. Maybe i will return it to see if it is possible to get it quiet. If i switch to ”MC” it get slightly worse, my pickup is a MC 0,8 mv so it is alittle between ”MM and”MC”. I also tested other pickups with same result
Best regards Sven-Åke

Hello,

  1. There are two kinds of ‘ground’ for RA180. One for power, one for phono amplifier.
If the ground that you connected is ‘SIGNAL GND’, which is for phono amplifier, would you try to disconnect it? For some turntables, the ground makes more noise.

  2. Is the ground for power of RA180 connected or disconnected?

  1. If you’ve tried XLR or RCA input, did you have noise with them as well?

Best Regards,

I have not grounded the powerground at fhe chassie, what shall i ground that to? There is a ground in the power inlet in my powercable should not that be enough?
It is in MC selected mode the hum is rather irritating, and it gets worse when i dissconnect the signalground cable from the Phono earth.
