Rose Radio -or- RoseFM

[please feel free to move this to another topic, if not here correctly]

I just purchased a rs451 and I have many questions about streaming radio apps on your device.

I hear about both ‘rose radio’ and ‘rose fm’, on these forums. Will you be moving streaming radio to one of these apps?

  • If yes, to which one, ‘rose radio’ or ‘rose fm’?
  • If no, which do you plan to support because I should focus more on that one.

We very much like RoseFM Tuner interface. It is a great look and the interface with the fake dial and buttons is so much nicer to use than the menus and submenu structure for Rose Radio.

  • Please do not get rid of your tuner interface!

For RoseFM (the cooler one), I find absolutely no information for how to add stations.

  • If there is no method for the user to choose and add internet stations to the RoseFM app, then you absolutely must develop one!
  • And please allow users to modify the list from the apps (PC) too!

If it is too much to ask you to improve the RoseFM app interface, you should consider providing API and a means for users to modify and install the modified apps onto the device; That is, let me code something and build a local copy of the rose radio, and also allow me to be able to install my modified app up onto my rose device.

PS Please do not get rid of the tuner interface. It happens to be one reason i chose rose hifi

We currently have no plans to integrate the ROSE RADIO app and the ROSE FM app.

The ROSE RADIO app is still under active development, while ROSE FM will remain in its current state without further updates.

ROSE FM is also based on internet radio, and its design is intended to replicate the look and feel of a classic radio. As a result, it will be maintained as it is, with no additional development planned going forward.

Please consider making the code available to the shareware Community. I’m sure we could bring this to the next level and have a really awesome app for use with rose and elsewhere

I’m sorry, but I didn’t fully understand what you meant.
Could you clarify what you mean by making the code available to the shareware community?
I would appreciate a more detailed explanation.

Consider “shareware Community” to be HiFi Rose owner who have software development skills and who desire to enhance a Function, like Rose FM, free-of-charge. Basically the shareware member, contacts you via a private message. The message would indicate the UIF Changes that the shareware developer desires to do; the shareware member would agree/sign to terms of nondisclosure & releasing ownership; on shareware member’s completion, the modified API is sent back to you for subseqent verification. If HiFi Rose likes the modification, the modified API is installed.

This is an idea worth considering. ← discuss this with HiFi Rose’s management & legal department.

Thank you for the suggestion.

We appreciate your interest in improving HiFi ROSE products and software.

Your idea about a community-based shareware development system is very interesting and worth considering. However, there are many factors that would need to be reviewed internally, including security, software stability, ownership, and legal matters.

We will share your suggestion with our management and legal teams for consideration.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback.
