Rose RS-130 crashes occasionally

The Rose RS130 streamer crashes from time to time.
There is no clear pattern, sometimes it just stops playing. Then the screen is without a picture but not completely black.

I then have to perform a restart each time.

What could be the reason for this problem?

Does anyone else have this situation?

@AndreasAmacher

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Please answer a few questions.

  1. When do you press anything on the RS130, does this symptom appear?
  2. Does this symptom appear when playing a specific sound source?
  3. What is the version information of your RS130?
    RS130–>Settings–>System info–>System version info
  4. Does the same symptom appear even if you factory reset your RS130?
    RS130–>Settings–>System settings–>Factory reset

Configure a static, manually IP-Adress out of DHCP scope area for your Rose streamer. Don’t use DHCP.
I did this in my Fritz!Box internet router, after that no play-stopping etc. anymore.

Dear Rosehan
Thank you for your response.
Here my answers:

  1. the crash comes just out of nothing, just by listening.
  2. Normally I stream from Qobuz and then it can happen.
  3. 4.19.01
  4. Yes, I did a complete Factory reset

Thank you for your further advice. Best wishes

Dear Christian

Hy Christian
I have not found the setting for the IP address of the Rose on my FritzBox. Can you please tell me where I can make this setting? Thank you very much.

Good morning Andreas,
first you have to write down how your DHCP Scope is configured.
Look in Fritzbox! in Network/Network Configuration
Klick on Button “IPv4-Adress Configuration”
Then you can see the DHCP Range.
After that go back to Network-Connections, klick (Pencil symbol right side) on your RS130:
Scroll down to iPv4 Adress, edit alternative ip-adress out of DHCP Scope and bookmark “Use always same adress”
When all settings entered click on “Overtake” (German "Übernehmen).
What you can try additionaly : Klick on “Internet Priority” herbye.

Your RS130 will recognize this and you can check the ip-adress on the front screen of the unit in corresponding menu. Maybe a restart on RS130 is a good choice.

Good luck, Christian

Dear Christian
Thank you for your explanation, which I have now set.
Now I am very curious whether this will prevent the crashes.
I will be happy to report again.

Dear ROSEHAN

I did give the Rose RS 130 a dedicated fix IP Address by the router, but crashes still sometime do happen.
It is not just when listening, but also in other situations, e.g. when I select something on the screen.
It unsettles me, but I can restart the Rose each time.

Do you have any advice?
