Rose RS 130 signal output

Hello, I use my Rs 130 with a Gaia and Terminator Plus. Connection is: LHY SW 10 via LWL in the RS 130 CAD USB into the Gaia - via 2 Tubulus clock cables for sync and I2S into the Terminator. The procedure of syncing the clocks and the I2S is applied following the youtube video of Denafrips.

Both clock LEDs of the Gaia and Terminator are on (red light) but if I play tracks above 44.1 kHz (92 and 192 kHz) the signal is interrupted and all LEDs of the right side of the Terminator are off. As soon as the next track is again 44.1 I hear music and a signal is provided and all LED`s are on.

Is there a problem or anything I need to change in the output settings of the RS 130 to play music with higher resolution than 44.1 kHz?
Appreciate any advise to fix this matter. Many thanks to all and best regards Oliver

@Kruss

I would like to ask you to confirm a few things.

  1. Does your customer have a problem when connecting the DAC to the RS130 via USB and setting the DSD setting on the RS130 to DOP or PCM instead of Native DSD?

  2. How is the PCM resampling frequency setting on your customer’s RS130 set?
    Please check if the same symptom occurs even when the Max sample rate is set to AUTO and the Resample Rate is set to Original.

Good morning Rosehahn, many thanks for your contribution and committment.
To answer your questions: 1) There is no problem to connect the Rose RS 130 via USB to the Denafrips Terminator plus and via this conection signals up to 192 khz can be played. When I have the Gaia (connected via USB with the Rose 130) in front of the Terminator plus connected via I2S and 2 BNC cables the is no signal above 44 mHz at the Terminator and no music. I played also on the settings and checked native DSD, Dop and DSD to PCM - the result is allways as described above. 2) I have the max sampling rate and the Auto engaged for the sampling and also original. Seems that I did whats neccessary in the parameters of the Rose. I was just asking if somebody has similar expierence with the combo Gaia/Terminator. Anyway many thanks for looking into my problems. Have a nice day Oliver

I forgot to mention: When I disable the clock at the Gai and Terminator 192 mHz is supported and music is playing. In some way there might be a problem with hte clock sync of the Denafrips items. So far Denafrips did show up with some suggestions after even providing a video…except that they sad “send the Gaia back to China we don`t have anybody who can fix it in Europe”. So I have the feeling that Denafrips let customers (at least me) in the dark even not trying to make any suggestions what has to be reconsidered in the settings. That would be a quiet expensive lesson with transport cost and re import taxes to send it outside the EU. It seems that even the value of 10.000 € for both items is no incentive to help. Regards

Just a further Status : Denafrips EU has contacted me in order to discuss my problem - from Europe there is at least the committment to help instead of sending one unit to China. If there will be information which could be interesting for the community I will report. Regards Oliver

I think the problem is in the clocking. The hifirose clocks on 10 mhz an de gaja on 44 and 48. So this wil never work.

Hello Kingfisher, I went in touch with Denafrips based on your statement and there answer is clearly: “No there is no poblem on syncing the Denafrips units with the Rose”.
Thanks and regards Oöiver
