Rose SFP kit availability

Hi,

I cant understand why there seems to be no availablity for the Rose SFP kit in the UK.

Surely this just requires bulk standard SFP parts and cables?

I have had this on order since May and the suppliers have no idea when they are going to receive stock.

Hi, @rosehan,

I have this item on order already and I have contacted Henley Audo previously. My supplier has told me that the kits were due in to the UK in mid August. Thay have not arrived and currently Henley Audio has no idea when they will arrive.

I was just trying to secure a reasonable idea when they may arrive and as stated can’t understand the delay as they should contain readily available components.

Hi, many thanks for this, I have tried other solutions before that have not worked. Bit of a minefield with this. Nice to have suggestions that have worked for others.

Have now bitten the bullet and am trialling the amphenol copper version which comes highly recommended by other community members.

I recently purchased a kit from Audio Affair in Birmingham, cost £99.
Their website states available in 2-3 days, so maybe worth giving them a call.

However, I have gone back to using a good quality HDMI cable via. the I2S connection between my RS130 and RD160 as I found the sound quality better to my liking.

That is where I have ordered my kit and have been waiting since the end of May. I have now acquired the amphenol DAC cable and am assesing this.

Otherwise I have been reasonably happy wiith the I2S connection, so will see which turns out best.

Please keep us updated with your thoughts with the Amphenol DAC cable.
I’m still happy with my current I2S connection, and have tried everything else out of curiosity including the SFP kit, USB & digital RCA.
The one thing that I like about the Rose equipment is the ability to quickly switch between the different connections. This gives you an instant comparison of the sound produced with the different cables.
My local dealer recommended the AES/EBU from day one, but this is the only connection that I have not tried to date due to the cable cost.

The jury is still out, however it is gradually improving as it burns in. The sound staging has improved and the mids are better defined. The top end is still a little mushy at the moment, again others report that improves with time.
