Am I correct that The USB in RS 130 will only accept a drive formatted in NTFS or FAT32 format and not Apple’s APFS or Mac OS?

Per android it should not be APFS, I use FAT so I can read the drive between my Mac and the Hifi Rose without issue.

Only FAT32, exFAT, and NTFS are supported.
APFS is not supported.
