RoseConnect for Windows and MAC (Ver 4.1.7beta)

Dear HiFiRose customers!

We distribute the RoseConnect (Ver 4.1.7 Beta) for Windows PC and MAC.
Currently, RoseConnect for Win/MAC is under development, so some functions are limited in use.
In addition, the lack of stability testing may cause malfunctions or program suspension during use.
There are many user’s opinions that ‘it would be nice to be able to use the Rose device on a PC’, so we are distributing the program under development as a beta version.
If you send feedback about the errors and suggestions while using it, we will reflect it in development.
It is still a bit lacking compared to other OS RoseConnect, but we will do our best to stabilize and update.

[UPDATES]

1. Music

  • ‘Recommended Artist’ is added in MUSIC > HOME tab.
  • The first consonant icon has been hadded to MUSIC > ALBUM and you can search for the first consonant.
  • When you click the first consonant icon next to the filter, the first consonant item appears, and when you click the first consonant, the clicked item is searched.
  • The UI of MUSIC > My Music has been changed.
  • The UI of MUSIC > Search has been changed.

2. RoseTube

  • Fixed an error in the UI change of Rosetube > Explore.
  • A recommended list has been added within the Explore tab.
  • The error that Rosetube > Subscription page could not be moved has been fixed.
  • An error that prevented moving to the subscription page has been fixed, and the UI of the subscription page has been changed.
  • Fixed an error where subscription and unsubscription could not be done.
  • Rosetube > My Music UI has been changed.
  • The UI of Rosetube > Search has been changed.

3. TIDAL

  • UI of Tidal > Explore item has been improved.
  • UI of Tidal > Video has been improved.
  • The UI of Tidal > Search has been changed.

4. QOBUZ

  • Fixed the issue - QOBUZ > Home, Explore > Changing filters quickly ocurred crashing the program.

5. Others

  • An error occurred when entering the recently played album/playlist has been fixed.
  • The problem that the User Pick friend playlist was copied has been fixed.
  • The integrated queue function has been improved.
  • Improved queue loading speed and display of the currently
    playing track.
  • Track selection, delete/move functions have been improved.
  • The problem that it is not possible to go to the home after the search result has been fixed.
  • It has been modified to display the same message when there is no search result.

**Rose_Connect download for Windows ver 4.1.7 is not working.

Works now, but when you play the music you cannot use the side menus anymore. You are not able to click them anymore.

This version keeps crashing and loading very slowly. I use my pc very much to change music. Too bad… am not very happy with this version. Am forced to use Roon now. When I do not want to. Hence I want to get to know the Rose app on PC and tablets. Hoping to stop Roon… but I don’t think I can… too many glitches in the apps… The only app where it works is my phone… cause the tablet crashes time and time again.

I found an issue when your screen goes to stand by you have to restart the app. Kinda annoying
When am playing music on tidal? Am not able to switch to use the menu anymore on the side.

You had no issues with the previous version(4.1.6) but they came up on new version(4.1.7)?

When the ROSE device goes to standby mode, your ROSE APP will demand you to turn on the device to use ROSE APP.

I never used the 4.1.6 - used even an older version before going to 4.1.7

I seen a youtube video as well where this was mentioned.

Play a song and it locks the menu. You are not able to use it anymore.

My mac has a problem with all versions of Rose_Connect. When I download from Google Drive, the macOS will not let me run the program because it cannot verify the developer. I was able to get a prior version to open, but it would lock with a screen asking me to update to latest version and no way to dismiss the dialog and no amount of mouse clicking would do anything at all.

I’d like to report that, when searching for a song, typing in a key word and then getting (like in my case) dozen of songs of different artists, the app always crashes when selecting one of the songs to be played. This only happens when the search yields more than 6/8 results for a song. I can attach a screenshot if my description isn’t clear enough.

I use a Mac and have downloaded successfully 4.1.7

Overall, compared to last year’s beta versions and the subsequent versions of the app, this latest one is much more stable and usable, and there have been significant improvements so - please - keep up the good developing work.

6/8 results in your post means the page of the results?

So you search something and it has dozens of results, more than 8 pages.
The app crashes when you play a song in 6th~ 8th page?

It happens when I search for a song title and the results show many songs (more than 8/10…).

When I click on any of the songs to play, the app crashes.

Here’re a couple of examples of song searches in my library.

“Summertime” search showed 49 tracks, “My Funny Valentine” search showed 11 tracks.

So, when the search results show many songs and one song is selected to be played, the app crashes.

When the search results show just a couple of songs (like in the example below), when one song is selected to be played, the app doesn’t crash

Rose, I have the same problem on my Window 10 PC. I downloaded it from this site, but when I tried opening it Windows Defender popped up saying it could not verify the developer and would not let me install / run it.

Are there any other texts? Is that the full screen of your computer?

If you are using a laptop, please check whether the installation screen has been moved to a secondary monitor or another screen.

Originally, there was an install button in the lower right corner of the computer.
Or if there is a ▽ button, press it and it will come out.

Only thing I got is what I posted above. Am still interested in a simple, non computer nerd way to hook up my Win 10 PC to my 150.

And I still feel a “New owners” forum, with FAQ’s and answers on setting up and using Rose products would benefit us and Rose. I’m very interested in the long term success of Rose (I don’t want my 150 to become a dead end product). Please consider adding that to this site.
