Rosetube sampling rate

Hello!

Why Rosetube plays everything in 96 kHz sampling rate, regardless original sample rate of the video played?

@Burle

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

The typical sample rate for other streaming outputs is 44.1 or 48Khz, but in the case of RoseTube, the output is at 96Khz.

For testing, please set as follows.
Please change Rose device–> Input/Output Settings–>Digital Output Settings (gear)–>PCM Resampling Frequency–>Max Sample Rate to 48Khz and then check whether the Rose Tube sound is transmitted.

Thank you for your answer but you misunderstood my question. I have no problems with playing Rosetube on 96 kHz. But, Youtube materials have different sampling rates, from 44.1 to 192 kHz. Obviously, on HiFi rose there is an internal resampling and all these music is played on 96 kHz only. Resampling, especially from 44.1, 88.2 or 176.4 to 96 kHz is altering sound quality. Depending on algorithm used and processing power involved, this difference in quality can be quite listenable.

Converting 48 or 192 kHz to 96 is a much less problem, but still maximum quality of 192 kHz is not bitperfect anymore. HiFi Rose is having puristic HiFi approach, but here is not the case. Also, if I correctly remember, older versions of Rosetube were capable of playing different samplerates. Is there any possibility to play original samplerates from Rosetube?

@Burle

This can be changed by adjusting the Max Sample Rate in the PCM Resampling Frequency option.

It is not possible to change it to 44.1KHz, but it can be limited to 48KHz.

Again, I am aware that i can change max sampling rate, but this is not what I am asking. I ask why Rosetube is not playing native sample rate in which ORIGINAL video is published? Why Rose tube is not playing a video which is published in 44.1 or 192 kHz in that sample rate? As I recall in previous version this was good and it did not play just in 96 kHz.

I am having a similar issue with VLC and the MKV’s I am trying to play back. It resamples everything to either 96khz on “auto” or to the max sample rate I set it to. I am playing back USB to a DAC. Flac files play perfectly.
I have posted in several forums, scoured the internet, and have come up empty. If you find a solution to this, I would appreciate it if you posted it here please. Similarly, if I find a solution, I will post in my thread and here. Thanks.
