RS 130 IR remote ability?

Hello everyone,

I am considering buying a RS130. There is one crucial thing for my descicion and that is an infrared remote ability.

As far as I understand the specifications as listed on the sites of several dealers, the 130 does have a IR receiver on the front panel. 38hz even according to some.
The remote that comes with the 130 however, is Bluetooth. With most manufacturers this means that if you do not actually pair the remote to Bluetooth it wil act as a regular IR-remote.
Am I correct in this for Hifi Rose devices like the RS130?

If the remote can send IR commands then I can teach them to my Harmony universal remote. That is what my whole concern is about. If that is not possible I think I will look for a different brand of streamer.

Hello. I have the RS130 streamer and the remote conttol included in the package works as ir remote perfectly. The remote is the silver one.

Hi, and thanks for this response. Can I ask how you know it’s operating as an IR remote and not paired via Bluetooth? Been trying to get a clear understanding of universal remote integration and this is the first ive seen of the RS 130 being able to do IR. Thanks!

Hi. I did not pair my remote in BT, but I can tell you that I must point my remote to the RS130 in order to be effective… which would not be needed if it were using BT.

Furthermore, I use an IR receiver to drive all my other devices inside a cabinet and it receives well the RS130’s remote impulses.

WIth that respect, you can go ahead…

There is an IR receiver built into the lower right side of the front of the RS130.
In the case of the RS130, you can use the remote control without connecting it separately via Bluetooth via IR.

To check if the remote control is connected via Bluetooth, check as follows.
RS130–>Settings–>Bluetooth–>
If there is ROSE RCA in gold letters in the Paired devices section, the remote control is connected via Bluetooth.

How can I pair the supplied remote of the RS130 using Bluetooth? I scanned devices in the settings, but unsure what to do after that.

No need : it is operated by infra-red… Just point the remote to the RS130.

Thanks. I got the RS130 remote to pair with the unit. Messes up on the timing of holding the ‘option’ and ‘home’ buttons. Good to go.
