RS 250 Network Streaming question

Hello

Is it possible to stream directly to the RS250 device rather then creating a Shared drive on your pc.
for example I have foobar 2000 with upnp module installed.
I have some music folders on my PC and I wish to stream it to the RS250 without using file shares.
(also I have an ssd in but its becoming full.

so just want to get on PC and stream a couple of tunes directly to the RS250

Is that possible ?

Hello,

If you’re using Windows PC,

Right click on your music file and you will see ‘cast on device’.
However, as I know, there is limitation in playing certain files, such as FLAC and m4a.

Hello Roseloa

Right I have done what you said, but having issues.
So bog standard mp3 file, right click → cast to device → Rose device → Media player comes up (as you can see form the pic) but no music coming from device.

On the Rose device the VU meters come up as they do when playing music, but its stuck and there is no music playing.
I can come out of the VU display and I can see the name of the track at the top right hand corner of the screen. But no sound.

So its sees the device it can cast tot the device, device receives song information but does no play the song.

Any ideas as to what the issue could be?

Thanks

Hello,

Does every songs have the same problem?
Would you send me one of the files?

Hello

Email sent to you, I have named the email the same as this thread.
Thanks

Hello

Yeah iv tried a few things but still having issues streaming from PC.
I can play stream from my mobile by using BubbleUPnP app.

So PC setup:-

PC —> 10GB connection to Switch
Rose → 1GB connected to same switch as PC.

Mobile Phone → Using Wifi6 connected to Wifi Router which is then connected to the Switch that the PC and Rose is on.

I sent email to you a few days ago.

Thanks

Hello,

I checked your email.
The file that you sent me works well in my PC.
I’m trying to find out any other correlation now.

How is your audio system organized?
RS250 > (USB) > DAC(model name?) > AMP > SPK… maybe?

Would you visit this link and see Method 2?

Maybe it’s off?

Hello

Thanks for your help. Issue sorted.
My 2nd FW was blocking one of the required services.
I can stream cast now from my PC.

I’m glad you solved it
