RS 250 Unable to operate with RoseConnect App

Hi,
I switched on my RS 250 and followed the instruction to update to version 5.9.07.6.
I then tried to use the RoseConnect App but it kept asking me to “Set up Wi-Fi” even though my unit is using ethernet wired connection.
I noticed that when I moved to another room, the App could work. But when I went near the unit, the App flipped to the page that ask to set up wi-fi and could not work anymore.

Appreciate your help to solve this.

Hi, that’s wild.

Just out of curiosity… do you have a wireless network?
If so… try this…

  1. Go to wifi and turn it on and set it up.
  2. After it has been set up… turn it off.

Now see what happens.

Also where is your wi-fi access point?
You said you were in one room away from the RS250, but could use the app. Were you near the wi-fi access point? But when you are near the unit… how far away are you from the access point?

I managed to solve the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling my RoseConnect App, and then connecting the device to the App via its IP address.

I’ve noticed that this sort of issue isn’t uncommon in apps and wi-fi devices.
Its like you tell the device to forget a device on the network and until you clear that cache… you will never be able to connect to that device.

The nice thing here is that you can easily find out the devices IP address and then manually search for it.
