I’ve switched from Ethernet in to fiber optic in and from USB out to SPDIF out
What’s everyone finding to be the best input and beat output for sound quality?

How far away are you from the switch?
If you’re talking patch panel or internal rack lengths… at 10GbE … not much benefit of fiber over CAT 8 wiring. The longer the distance the better choice would be fiber.
I don’t know about mixing / matching SFP+ and SFP. (Its been a while since I looked at this … and its SFP+ for 100GbE or higher)
I seriously don’t know how much you can improve your connections.

25m … fiber over CAT 8 wire … definitely. Its when you’re looking at 10GbE and lengths 2m and under where copper wins out. (Transceivers have heat and power issues that you don’t have w copper wire.)
I’m a ways off on running fiber thru the condo. There would also have to be a couple of other projects included. Wife would probably want to kill me.
I have a modified Cisco Meraki connecting upstream with fiber to a Netgear switch and downstream to RS130. On the USB side, fiber from RS130 to the RSA720 hub and then via a Supra USB cable to my Mola Mola Kula streaming amplifier. So no copper to RS130 other than power.
From AVM Router Audioquest Vodka Ethernet to Trendnet 1000 Mediaconverter,
Cisco SFP10G-AOC5m (5m) to 1st SotM-snh10G Switch.
Interconnet to 2nd SotM-snh10G switch Amphenol DAC 2m. (SFP+ Copper based)
Cisco SFP10G-AOC1m (1m) to RS130 input.
2 switches in stack is a game changer, all with Mutec Ref10 Nano Masterclock.
2 Keces P6 for clean DC power.
Audioquest Carbon HDMI RS130 i2s output to Holo Audio Cyan2 DAC.
Finally into Primare SPA25 on KEF R11.
It was a long nice journey, i started figure around with 10GTek mediaconverter and was impressed from the beginning, what improvements really to get.
